Who would you like to see come to Hilton?

Ever since the 2000 NCAA semi's up in Auburn Hills, Mich. I have wanted to play Michigan St. in a rematch so bad. Who would you like to see come & fall to the wrath of Hilton Magic... and why?

Personally, I want Dick Vitale to do the color... and I want it on National TV... And I wanna kick the crap out of the Spartan's... And I want Izzo to lose his cool... (twice) ...and when one of their players make it to the free throw line, I want "the S T A R E" of GMAC repeated 200 times around the coliseum in the "ribbon-of-light" ...followed by the WWE wrestling theme of the Undertaker, & a sold-out crowd blowing the roof off of the place as we clear the bench 1 by 1, with 5:00 min. left in the game. Defeating them rather soundly, so when they do walk off the court, they'll think twice before ever setting foot again in Hilton Coliseum.

Mich. St. most def. but also Duke, N.C., or Florida any big name, knowing that they would have so much trouble with "the magic".

USC- Up and coming team from major conference, Timmy Floyd

Southern Miss- Larry makes his return, never will happen but still would be fun

Teams like Duke, North Carolina, Louisville etc.. would be fun to see a big dog come in here again.

Whoa, you're forgetting a major one! Sweet 16 in Auburn Hills, Michigan, 2000. UCLA dominated #3 seed Maryland, winning by 35 points and became everyone's sleeper pick for the final four. They dunked all over them making them look really really bad. But, they hadn't seen anyone like ISU who ended up winning 80-56. I still remember Larry, filled with pride, saying he challenged the team not to let them dunk that night and they only got one.

It's one of my favorite memories of my time at ISU because after the game the students shut down Welch and Lincoln Way. I can still picture looking down Lincoln Way and seeing people from sidewalk to sidewalk for at least two blocks. The excitement on campus during a run like that is unbelievable.

EDIT: ISU also lost to UCLA in the 1st round of the '93 tournament. I thought they had played at least three times fairly recently.

Sorry, my bad... I could've swore he asked if we ever got beat by UCLA 1 or 2 times... Yes! I remember that game vividly! Did anyone notice that with every victory from the 1st round until the elite-8, the margin of victory was wider with each game? ...and then the ultimate screwing by the officiating in the Michigan St. game. Might also add that was the only time I heard Marc Hanson ever defend ISU.

I would love to see North Carolina. But I am pretty sure that Roy Williams would not come back to Hilton unless it was at gunpoint.

That is not true. I was at the game (so sad) when Dollar threw it up over the stretched arms of Cato. That game was in San Antonio in the sweet 16. If we would have won that game we would have played minnesota and bobby jackson two days later (and probably won). If you remember correctly we were up by 16 in that game and just let them slide right back into it. One of the toughest losses in cyclone history to swallow. What makes it feel better though is knowing we kicked the crap out of them a couple years later in the tourney on the way to the elite 8

haha too bad no powerhouse wants to come here......they dont want to travel to iowa to a very tough environment and risk a loss....most of those teams can get better matchups sadly, i still would want to see UNC...rematch from the tourney
