Finish 6-6 and 2-6.
They haven't finished; they get a bowl game with a 2-6 conference record?
It was fun to watch them lose. Tate had 4 turnovers, but was getting all over his team mates when they didn't do something right. I bet there are a bunch of players that will think don't let the door hit you in the *** on the way out. He can be a real jerk. If I was his center, I would have given him a pile driver in to the ground.
so, do iowa fans still think tate is heisman material?
They will end up in the champs or alamo with a 2-6 record in the big 10.
There has to be a rule put in place on this crap.
Iowa's Bowl Resume
4-0 to non conference start
2-6 to finish
All 4 non conference opponents suck. They had trouble with all of them except for the 1-AA.
They then beat an Average Purdue team and an Illinois team that tied for last.
That is their frickin resume?
I am ****** because they will probably end up fricking going to the Alamo and beating some big 12 team to make it even worse. ISU would need 7-9 wins to make the Alamo.
09/02 Montana W 41-7
09/09 at Syracuse W 20-13
09/16 Iowa St W 27-17
09/23 at Illinois W 24-7
09/30 #1 Ohio St L 38-17
10/07 Purdue W 47-17
10/14 at Indiana L 31-28
10/21 at #2 Michigan L 20-6
10/28 N Illinois W 24-14
11/04 N'western L 21-7
11/11 #16 Wisconsin L 24-21
11/18 at Minnesota 34-24
And the fan meltdown on the other boards is so entertaining.
So many of them are just floored that they went 2-6 in conference.
I know it's hard for you Hawkeye fans to fathom, but your team just isn't very good. All the preseason hype was, again, unwarranted. Having ESPN GameDay in Iowa City before the OSU game seems awfully silly now, doesn't it. Kirk "I Own Stock in Wrigley's Chewing Gum" Ferentz earned A LOT this year for each of his 6 wins.
Can't wait to see all the predictions for a Big 11 title again next summer.
lol, anyone remember before the season/early in the season, when ESPN did their mock playoff thing and had iowa in in like the final 8/4? so funny!!
Actually even if they Big10 didn't get 2 in the BCS they would go no lower than the Insight this year. They don't have enough teams.
They will always get picked over minnesota, Purdue, Northwestern etc... Even if they finished worse.
Look at this year....Doesn't it looked like they finished 9th in the Big 10
Michigan 7-0 11-0
Ohio State 7-0 11-0
Wisconsin 7-1 11-1
Penn State 5-3 8-4
Purdue 5-3 8-4
Minnesota 3-5 6-6
Indiana 3-5 5-7
Iowa 2-6 6-6
Northwestern 2-6 4-8
Michigan State 1-7 4-8
Illinois 1-7 2-10
Too bad we didn't beat Iowa and beat Colorado. Then we would have 2 conference wins and 6 wins. You know where that would get us?
Houston or Independence. Basically we would be the last team selected is what I am trying to tell you.
you know,i think because iowa finished BEHIND minnesota in the standings (3-5 vs. 2-6), i don't think iowa CAN be selected higher than minnesota. as much as we all know iowa's been to bowls it doesn't deserve to go to, there is a hierarchy that has to be followed.
On paper Iowa looks pretty good, however it didn't translate to the feild. Farentz seems to do a lot better when the expectations are lower.
It's a tragedy that 6-6 can get you to a bowl game. What a joke. They'll probebly get manhandled and end up 6-7. Can't ISU go to a bowl? 4-8 dosn't sound too bad. We're in a BCS conferance and have fans that travel. If we win we'd be 5-8, not far behind Iowa. Hell let's play Iowa in the Alamo Bowl remach time!
