football on the only two site i have participated in cylconereport and cyclonefanatic. If ISU hires mike sherman they might be making a huge mistake. I am an NFL guy as well as a green bay packers fan. Mike Sherman might be one of the worst general managers in nfl history. Do not get me wrong i think he is a very good coach. I know i am not giving examples because i am tired but i could go on and on and it would be very boring. He craped all the talent green bay had down his leg and he signed all the wrong free agents. He also was not very good at drafting.

What i am getting at is he scares me to death recruiting wise. I know he can coach i just don't think he can evaluate talent. If anyone wants a few examples let me know and i will go off tommorrow.

I am not an ISU football guy, so i do not really care but i am an ISU basketball guy so i need ISU football to do enough so basketball can succeed. We are a basketball school and anyone who thinks we can be a football school is damn near crazy and i think pollard understands that.

If your a bball fan then why do you care what/how the football program does things. Your not a real Cyclone fan if your just going for basketball. You should be in it for the whole ten yards, not just the for five.

Mike Sherman would be hired to COACH Iowa State, not make decisions NFL GM's do.

He will not be trading players, drafting players, or making salary decisions.

And if you think recruiting is like drafting you are sorely mistaken.

I'm not saying he is Charlie Weiss, but NFL guys bring "street creed" to college programs due to their understanding of the next level. Players want to play for a guy who has coached in the NFL because they know what it will take to get there. Mike Sherman will have an extensive list of contacts and will bring some EXCELLENT assistant coaches with him to Ames.

I like this choiice over Harbaugh.

He cannot evaluate tallent!!! That is why he lost his job in Green Bay!!!! If he would have steped down as GM he would still be there head coach, he is a great coach, but a horrible talent evaluator that is all that i am saying and i do not won't the footbal program to take a step back and i am afraid he might do that, that is all i am saying.
