San Diego U. misses I-AA Playoffs!
San Diego (10-0) now will represent the PFL in the Gridiron Classic on Dec. 12. ((Does anyone think this will delay an announcement from JP, "if" Harbaugh is the man?)) -
Re: San Diego U. misses I-AA Playoffs!
How can they miss the playoffs when they didn't lose a single game? I don't get it.

Re: San Diego U. misses I-AA Playoffs!
They are IAA non scholarship....so they don't get much respect for the schedule that they play. In it's simplest terms....San Diego is like Drake, and unlike UNI.
By the way, did UNI get in?

Unfortunately our season is over, and moving forward is crucial, but all respect still needs to be given to the other organization. The only way I see this being false is if we grab someone from the pros.

Three of four Illinois teams got in, and San Diego didn't? Sheesh. The proof is in the pudding for all the naysayers who are convinced that the I-AA playoff system makes truckloads more sense than the BCS...
True and Valiant
I also remember a game with Kansas when Cy (wore a huge suit then) went out to center field, squatted, and "pooped" a couple of chickens that had been dyed blue then chased them around.

Yeah, but there's a big difference between the 15th or 16th best team not getting a chance at the championship and the 2nd best team in the country not getting a chance.

Re: San Diego U. misses I-AA Playoffs!
What's even worse is that UNI didn't get in and the 3 Illinois schools did....UNI beat Youngstown State at YS, they beat Illinois State, but lost to S. Illinois. What a crock for the Panthers...

No disrespect because you can only beat the teams you play, but when Drake is the 6-1 in your league you have an idea of the strength of your schedule.

Re: San Diego U. misses I-AA Playoffs!
Well, at any rate SDU needs to get ready for Saturday's game at UC Davis, followed by the Gridiron Classic on December 2nd against Monmouth University in West Long Branch, New Jersey. (I'm wondering if this might delay an announcement from JP, again "if" JH is the man.)

Admittedly, I don't pay much attention to the lower divisions of NCAA football, unless UNI is playing.

Re: San Diego U. misses I-AA Playoffs!
I'm still a little confused on why everyone is getting hard over Harbough. I've read the stories and everything but does that mean he can do it in the big 12? Maybe we should hire Drake's coach or maybe even WDM Dowlings coach...
I'm not saying that he can't be good but I'd like to see us hire someone with a little Division 1 or NFL experience.

Re: San Diego U. misses I-AA Playoffs!
I guess what I look at is the recruiting power that a Jim Harbaugh type of name would bring to our program. His assistants can do the bulk of the coaching for all I care......and they probably do the majority of it on any given day anyway. Recruiting is the biggest issue for a program like ours. A big name like his, especially here in the midwest, would help a lot to bring in big time recruits, IMO.

Re: San Diego U. misses I-AA Playoffs!
I'm with you DMClone, I'm not saying he can't do it but how do we take such a chance? Kragthorpe seems to have so much more. How about hiring the coach off of that MTV "two a days" show? He is a real hard *** and obviously has extreme success in Texas football. (SARCASM!!!)
