I know what you mean though. Lets hope he stays eligible. There will also be nights were he won't make a single one of those. He is a hell of and athlete though.
Do we have to worry about him staying eligible? Has he had academic problems in the past?
I know that GMAC will do his best to make sure he's eligible. Hell, he had someone essentially walk Eric Coleman to and from class at UNI to make sure he actually went--woke him up in the morning and everything.
This approach pisses me off and I hope it's something he doesn't continue at Iowa State. I'm not saying we need to only have members of Mensa on our team, but they should at least want to be a STUDENT athlete.
A three legged dog walks into a bar and says, "I'm lookin' for the man who shot my paw."
I'm sure Coleman could've slid by without going to most of his classes. That McDermott made sure he went to class shows that he genuinely cared about his players and wanted them to suceed in life. Plus, apathay has a way of spreading.
I just want them to stay eligible and graduate eventually unless they go to the NBA. I mean just keeping them eligible is important, because I can hardly see somebody going to school for four years then just dropping it unless they had something better waiting like the NBA.
