My Big 12 thoughts
1. The Big 12 is going to have a down year. KU is probably the only top 10 team in the league. Texas/OU/A&M may be Top 25 teams but who knows.
2. Colorado is bad. Although they did just get a nice road win at Utah 60-59.
3. New Mexico and Air Force have each beaten 2 different Big 12 teams. New Mexico beat CU by 40+ and then beat KSU by 24. Are they actually that good? Or are the other teams that bad? Air Force beat Cu by 38 and Texas Tech by 14. Are they good as well? Or not?
4. Who created Texas Tech's schedule:
11/20 at Marquette
11/21 at Air Force
11/25 at UTEP
11/29 at TCU
12/3 at Stanford
12/6 at Louisiana Tech
12/9 Centenary
12/16 at Arkansas
They play 1 home game in a month!
5. What are potential Big 12 recruits going to do during the non-contact period of recruiting since Kelvin Sampson left for Indiana?
6. Why are we still doing the apple shuffle at Hilton? Everyone knows that the apples will mix slowly...pause so everything things it shuffle is over (it's the middle apple everytime by the way so you really don't need to watch the first half and still get it right)...and then shuffle really fast. I think they are going to the well one too many times.
7. Is it bad if I root for the person shooting the Gracious Free Throw for Dough to miss?
8. It's nice to see Baylor playing some non-conference games this year. And also not killing fellow players.

The apple shuffle is a little game sponsored by Applebee's, on the big screen. Cy is hiding in an apple, and they do the whole shuffle game where you guess where he's hiding after they mix it all around. Do what I do, cycloneworld - just try and Maverick it at the beginning and don't bother watching the apples dance anymore. -

Someone gets to shoot a free throw for $50...if they miss its $100 bucks the next game, etc., etc. If they make it they get the money...kinda lame.
Does anyone know why they stopped the 5 for 5 thing? I always enjoyed that. I never saw anyone win the car though.

I saw one guy win a car, I think he ended up having them apply the cost of the car towards a truck. One of my dorm mates made 3 of 5 baskets. He was 3 seats away from mine...it should have been me, not him. -

"BENSON MOTORS!!!" I always thought his name was Lou...actually we would always make up a different name everytime...it was much more fun.

Re: My Big 12 thoughts
It was good when Lou hosted it; the guy after him was HORRIBLE.

I miss those days! I love the basketball shuffle, but hate the apple shuffle...how does that work!

"BENSON MOTORS!!!" The Ed was Ed Gagne (spelling?), pronounce Gone-Yea. He was the ISU men's gymnastics coach for years, then worked in the athletic department after that. I remember the men's gymnastics team used to do half-time shows during the basketball games that were always entertaining.

The two Bobbies (Knight/Huggy Bear) did not have a good night. Oklahoma pooped out. Kansas has been beat at home. Looks like bball is imitating football for the conference. Not only a down year, but not too competitive as a conference anywhere. Who would have thunk?
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -
