Big 12 Standing predictions

Not sure how they will exactly seed but I separated them into 4 tiers:

Top
KU---I concede the game @ The Phog but maybe we can give 'em a game @ Hilton
A&M---Should have 2nd place in the bag. KU's only competition for the title.

Mid-Top
Texas---Will improve more than any team as the season goes on, including us.
Okla St---Likely to make NCAA

Middle
K-St---NCAA is a coin toss. Guaranteed NIT
Tech---Jarrious Jackson is unstoppable. Likely NIT but NCAA is possible
Oklahoma---NIT bound
ISU---5-8 wins in conference depending on development. NIT would be reasonable goal
Baylor---Need to show me something
Nebraska---Creighton win was nice
Mizzou---Good start but weak competition so far

Bottom
CU---My most confident pick. Which 1-3 Big XII teams will they embarrass at home this year? (Crossing fingers)

Pretty much how I see it, although I might bump Baylor up ahead of us.

I still think people are giving K State way too much credit right off the bat. Why not wait until they show us the #1 recruiting class is actually worth something? Until they actually show up and handily beat a sound opponent, I would leave them towards the 'bottom' of the middle teams.

It's going to be an interesting year. I agree that KU and A&M should be the class of the league and UT and OSU won't be terribly far behind. After that it's a crapshoot.

NU might have the best win so far and as bad as CU has been they also got a road win at Utah last night. ISU, MU, and OSU are 5-0, and A&M and NU haven't lost either. I think there's going to be some surprises in a lot of games and how the teams finish.

I think people are putting too much stock into the Creighton win for NU. They're not near the test they would be if PG Dotzler were playing. A good win still, but not something that would propel them to the top of the Big 12. Unfortunately, they have no other tests until they reach conference play.

Picks 3-9 really are a crapshoot at this point. KU and TAMU should stay strong and at the top, Baylor, Colorado, and Missouri I see hanging around the bottom. I don't see Texas lower than sixth and OU lower than 7th, but other than that I see a lot of teams with potential that could just as easily dissipate. Only time will tell! A more clear picture will be in view by the New Year's. Until then, it's anyone's guess still.

1) Kansas 13-3 Oral Roberts is just a wake up call
2) Texas A&M 12-4 Great experience/great 1-2 punch
3) Texas 10-6 Young, but Rick Barnes can recruit and coach
4) Nebraska 9-7 Creighton win says a lot
5) Iowa State 9-7 Common, gotta be bias here.... :)
6) Oklahoma 9-7 Purdue loss baffles me
7) Missouri 8-8 Cupcake non conference schedule doesn't fool me
8) Kansas State 7-9 Might take huggy a year
9) Texas Tech 6-10 Road stretch in non conf. could kill them
10) Oklahoma State 6-10 I'll know more when they play Syracuse
11) Baylor 5-11 Better, but nothing special yet
12) Colorado 2-14 Ouch for this team


Here is what I think......I'm sure it will be way off, but fun to think about. This is based on whats happened already!

Baylor will win more than 5 games.

I think that my prediction for us my vary a little as the season goes on. I would like to see how Jiri plays and if McIntosh will start to be the PG I expected when we first signed him.

Baylor could go a few slots higher and so could KST.

The only really hard part about this is whether to pick KU or TAMU for #1. They are both good and will probably end up 1 & 2...the question of who comes out on top still remains.

I also think I may have Colorado a little high on the list.

A quick comment on the NU v Creighton game...Creighton is not as good as advertised this year...they are playing terrible basketball right now, also, a week before beating Creighton, Nebraska lost an exhibition game to University of Souther Illinois at Edwardsville...

I love the predictions by you guys. God I hope we finish 5th in the conference with a winning record. We would be a shoe in for the tourney if that was the case. Sadly I disagree though. I think we will finish 9th in the conference. Not enough offense, and when you only have one guy who can create his own shot your going to struggle
