I'll start by saying that I have no idea whether this idea is workable or not, but I thought I would throw this out there.
I think Iowa State should build a huge parking facility on the land east of the stadium, which could be used for football, basketball or other events. Organize it to have several entrances and exits onto multiple streets, and then, on game days, ease traffic flow by making some streets one way. I am not sure how all the particulars would be worked out, but hopefully it would attract more fans who don't want to walk a long distance, and also possibly keep a few more butts in the seats at the end of games since you wouldn't have to worry about so much traffic congestion when you leave. Just a thought!
Not sure what a parking garage would cost, but it seems to me you could add quite a few seats for the same amount of money. Unless fans would be willing to pay $40-$50 a game to park there, it sees the money could be better spent elsewhere at this time.
I'd like to see 1 improvement to Hilton: lighting. I don't think the current lighting would allow for us to turn down the lights and put a spotlight on the players coming off the bench when the starting lineup is announced. They did this at Wells Fargo Arena last season and it was pretty sweet.
