Jeremy - An honest question

You missed the Harbaugh "hiring" and now you are trying to report that a contract is being signed. Re-read you post. There is no information in it that hasn't already been reported in the media with the exception of this so called contractual agreement that will be finalized in the near future.

Let me guess. Your sources are also saying that the next head coach will be named within 14 days. I realize all your supporters are going to rip me, but be honest. Nothing you have reported with regards to the FB head coach search has been accurate. Ban me from your website if you must, but please understand that all I am asking for is factual reporting. I am a booster of Iowa State (not at the high end, but high enough to hear a little), but to say that Harbaugh is the next coach was very premature at the least.

Again, if you feel I should be banned for my thoughts, so be it. I just want the best for Iowa State and I 'm not sure what is coming from this website is in the best interests of the athletic department.

Dude.......you just made his argument for him. He is going to report it when he knows it's accurate.

With Jamie Pollard, even "inside" information is never going to be 100% accurate.

I would say most of us aren't looking for the EXACT answer. Maybe just the general direction things are heading. Well, I am anyway.

This site and all the others are for entertainment purposes only. Thats why you're here and also the other 2 sites. Enjoy it since the speculation and up and down nature is half the fun....

Bullishcy2, this is a FAN site, not an accredited news organization (which, by the way, even they get it wrong sometimes). Jeremy is simply providing us with as much information as he has and he clearly states that said information is from his sources only.

I agree, but that is why you hold off before "reporting" everything that is ever mentioned to you. Journalists sit on leads al the time before they report the story. I really question Jeremy's sources when 15 people are always wrong. Pollard is not that good.

While I believe Jeremy does an EXCELLENT job, he is not a journalist. He works in IT and this site is a passion of his as a fan. There is a lot of speculation out there...appreciate the job Jeremy does filtering through it and offering as much insight as he can.

Jeremy never said Harbaugh was the next coach. He said he was the leading candidate and that a decision could have been made as early as early this week. From everything we've heard from other media sources, it seems this was accurate. We all know that nothing is final until the contract is signed. I think Jeremy has done an excellent job of keeping us informed throughout the process.

Also, if his reporting is so inaccurate and detrimental to ISU sports I would think you wouldn't want to come to this site and banning you wouldn't be necessary.

I don't think he ever claimed that anything he reported was carved in stone, lead pipe cinch, gospel truth. He is simply passing on the news that he hears, being very clear that the situation is fluid and things could easily change. The vast majority of people who frequent these sites are here because they want to be on the cusp of the breaking stories and they want to be privy to the latest scuttlebutt. Most people know that internet reporting, due to its immediacy, is much more fluid that print or even broadcast journalism. They accept that fact and take everything with the proper number of grains of salt.

Bullishcy, and I ask this question in all seriousness, is the information Jeremy is giving us really hurting anything? If you feel that way, then I can understand where you're coming from, but otherwise it isn't doing any harm.. and like others have said, this isn't an accredited news organization or anything.

Bullish... I don't think you need to worry about being banned as you were fairly respectful in your post. However... I disagree with you in the sense that I'm sure a site like this helps the AD get a good feel for who the fans would support and who they wouldn't. Throwing out names on here and hearing terrible feedback on them might make the department want to look in a different direction. If ISU really thought this site was causing a problem, I'm sure they would talk to Jeremy and either ask him to make changes or shut the site down if it was really detrimental. However... as far as I know, that hasn't happened.

Hey "BS"...CN reported that they felt Harbaugh would be the guy and they thought an announcement would be made soon. That was over a week ago. Same thing Jeremy said. Never did anyone say Harbaugh was the next coach as you portray. The sites I read said they expected Harbaugh to be the guy. Big difference.

So is CN also bad for ISU?
