Heard that some members of the ISU band may be needed to play the Iowa State Fight song on Wednesday???

Well... sorta. Don't get your hopes up, though. All we were told was that we had one more full-uniform performance after thanksgiving break, and a couple days that it could potentially be. Otherwise, our director told us that he was given some information, but sworn to secrecy, so he couldn't tell us anything. But he did tell us that we could speculate all we wanted.

Look at how antzy everyone is. Look how excited everyone is getting. They want to know, we want to know. And hopefully to full fill these emotions, we will have the WOW announcement that we all have been waiting for. Its called suspense. You hate it and love it at the same time.

Careful there, junior. That's how rumors get started.

Short answer: no. As I posted late last week, we were told that we would have one more performance at an as-yet-unknown time in the next few weeks. Our director said that he was not allowed to tell us what it was for, but it's pretty obvious that it will be the anmnouncement of ISU's next head football coach. We were given four dates on which this announcement would happen, and this Wednesday was not one of them.

The band has not been told anything since that announcement last Friday. When something is known, we will be told immediately, because the band's members need to work on clearing their schedules so that they can play at the press conference. Therefore, if we haven't heard anything, it's because there is nothing to hear yet.

Personally, I think we're getting pretty close, and we'll hear something on Monday. But for right now, there is no new information...

Perhaps the secrecy is not for ISU but rather the school/team the new coach is leaving. In fairness to that school, they most likely have a game this weekend. I am sure they are trying not to give that big of a distraction right before game time.

I'm curious as to if it just might be Harbaugh or not. His PR guy briefly stated that Mr. Harbaugh was not in the running anymore, and his name had been lifted. (we all know that) ...but, the irony in that statement was that he couldn't offer any other information & quickly left the media room. I know I'm probably wrong, but I'd like to speculate that this statement might have been made to ease the media attention because of the status of Harbaugh's team this weekend.

Or maybe, its a ploy to get everyone thinking that Jamie Pollard is nothing but an Athletic Director at some land-grant university in the middle of the American heartland...when actually, he is a super-secret alien spy sent from the planet of nanalianhamengetter to test the intelligence of us earthlings so they can precisely plan their conquest of our planet, so as to get the needed energy for their daily lives in the Lilat system in an alternate dimension.

Or it could be that Jim simply isnt qualified for the job by JP's standards.
