Brian Kelly?

Is this a name anyone's going to get people out to buy season tickets (that normally wouldn't)? I'll have to check out his bio.

Let's see. Take away my parking pass because I don't give enough, raise ticket prices $10 per game, fire one of the most popular coaches in history (maybe second to Johnny) and then hire this guy? If he ends up being the guy what a monumental let down, unless he wins...a lot.

That last part is why we are going in a new direction.
Give this a chance, is anyone upset so far with the direction basketball and wrestling is going? Only setback was letting the gymnastic coach leave. But that was due to lack of MONEY.

I'm not hot on Brian Kelly. We need somebody thats going to unite the Cyclone fan base.

He beat toledo much better than we did.....at his previous school he got coach of the year twice....he's about to get an offer for a contract extention at central michigan...he's a family man and has midwest ties.....and common we gotta trust JP if this is his choice

I think someone like Brian Kelly will make quite a few fans take the "wait and see" approach. Which, seems counter intuitive if you're trying to sell season tickets at a rapid rate.

JP is thinking long run.......I think we'll be happy with whatever he chooses given some patience and time.

I'd be happy if BK is the guy. The fact that he also appears to be the front runner at MSU says something about the guy. If he comes across that well in an interview, I would guess he comes across pretty well in a recruits living room. This is also the type of guy that may be willing to hang around for a while if he is successful.

Reminds me of Coach McDermott.

I agree as of now, but look at the basketball ticket sales, change brings a new excitement.

I think once the new coach in introduced, whoever it is, will bring new enthusiasm because their excitement will probably be a bit contagious. Mac's enthusiasm did less for fans at the end because they new what was coming.

I want to know if Kelly is the front runner at MSU and we dumped a couple top candidates to go after Kelly and then Kelly surprises us and goes to MSU, where does that leave us?

I'm not sure he's the front runner at MSU. But, I don't know. JP doesn't seem like the type of guy to put himself in that situation. Now VanDeVelde? Sure!
