I think he will do very well there....A year off and hearing he thinks it will help him mature....He needed that at ISU maybe he will get hungry and want to prove all the people who talked him down here and it will drive him.
The Urban Legend of the Taggert stomach virus. The first time I heard about the virus it was reported that Taggert lost close to 10 lbs, then it grew to 15 and finally was reported at 20 lbs of weight loss by the end of the season. Now it is reported at Memphis that the weight loss was 30 lbs. On someone who only weighs 215-220 lbs to begin with that is cause for hospitalization.
I hope Taggert finds what he's looking for at Memphis and does well there. By the time he graduates the Memphis paper can print about how he turned his career around after loosing close to 75 lbs his freshman year at ISU.
ACtually I heard the virus killed him but he came back to life later but he only had enough strength to play offense..... at any rate, best of luck to Tags.
Remember that stressed spelled backwards is desserts!

LOL at cyklan. I agree...I think the stomach virus thing is wayyyy overblown. It held him back for a period, but cripes, the guy has been away from BBall for a few months and I'm not sure he's added a pound back to his frame.
I wish him well, but highly doubt he will see the NBA in his future. His agility seems lacking when you watch him. Looks like a skinny Acie Earl running the court and I doubt his defensive prowess gets any better at Memphis. Calipari teams try to out athletic you just like Morgan's did.
Nevertheless I hope Shawn finds a happy home in Tn.
I truly hope Taggart can find a place in Memphis and be happy with how things are going there. I hope to hear about him a few years down the road about how he's improved and taken his game to another level.
I've dogged Shawn as much as anyone but I really hope he can be happy and play better at Memphis. I still think he needs to change his attitude and maybe being in a new location with a coach who actually coaches will do that for him. Good Luck, Shawn.
If Calipari keeps putting teams on the floor like he had this year Taggert will get rotation minutes at best. If you watched them play there was a clear level of athleticism and the Shawn lacks. Just a fact. But Memphis' attrition rate for these studs is high so who knows.
I don't know it may just be me but I don't see him getting much PT. I know kids that had no talent at all work 10x harder than he does. If he really cared we would have seen him put on some weight over the 5 month season. I'm glad he is leaving, he's not going to amount to anything. And frankly who wants someone on a team that doesn't care?
Taggert was the most overrated recruit i can remember is recent years. he seemed lazy and i doubt he would have put in the work mac will demand to make him better.
I wish is could have worked out cause he has a nice touch.
