I have heard from multiple sources that Kelly has until noon to sign the contract presented by Jamie Pollard. What that contract is, I don't know. But if Kelly does decide to accept, he is our next head coach.

Good, BUT!
I realize the need to hire a new coach, but I don't think we should put a guy in this position. He is playing for a Conference Championship Thursday. He and CMU deserve the right to prepare for that game without distraction.
My immediate thought is Michigan and Bill Frieder in 1988 or 89. Arizona State insisted on making an announcement and Bo let Bill Frieder go on the eve of the NCAA tournament. Something like "A Michigan guy is going to coach Michigan."
If Kelly is the guy and we are forcing his hand to appease "big doners" and the rest of us with some announcement before his final regular season game, I feel we are showing little class.

Noon is being mentioned for several different offers at MSU, ISU, etc. It's not just ISU's contract offer that supposedly revolves around that time.
