It was reported today that Patterson signed a contract extension through 2012 with TCU. So he is out.

Pellini says he hasn't even talked to anyone from ISU.

Brian Kelly doesn't confirm or deny that he has accepted the ISU. No comment.

That indicates to me that Brian Kelly is our new coach.

It isn't surprising to me that Kelly can fly to Dallas and negotiate a deal and be back in Michigan. Also not surprising that he will be in Ames for an announcement. I'm sure a private jet can make the trip to Michigan and fly him and his family to Ames and then fly them back so he can make practice on Tuesday. I just don't see them making him catch a commercial flight and a couple connections.

Maybe Pelini's agent did all the talking. Perhaps Bo did everything in writing...like sign a contract to be our next coach! He didn't say there hasn't been any communication...

I guess all this secrecy shows that there is alot on the line......I'm trying not to get too wrapped up in this, because we won't even know if we got the right guy until at least a couple years have gone by to measure our results. But still excited for tomorrow nite.

Once again people....just because a coach says he hasn't talked to anyone from ISU doesn't mean he hasn't been contacted. Why do you think ISU hired that firm in Atlanta? Yes, they do background checks, talk to agents, etc., but by having a party involved like that, it's a way for candidates to say they haven't been contacted by ISU and they are right....they haven't been contacted...by ISU. But they very well may HAVE been contacted by the search firm in Atlanta.

And don't for one second think that coaches are 100% truthful in regards to being interviewed either.

i'll go one further...perhaps it was all negotiated through the consulting firm that was hired. i'm guessing that is unlikely...very rare to hire someone in such a high profile position without meeting face to face first. at least i prefer to meet people face to face before things to too far.
