I believe it has been confirmed on cyclonereport's confidential board. 06-07-2006, 03:38 PMCyLyteYeah, but can Greg McDermott recruit? 06-07-2006, 03:42 PMcllions05Anyone see this kid play before? I see his weight and get scared a little. I just hope he is not another Taggart....tall, lanky guy who gets bullied in conference play. 06-07-2006, 03:45 PMflander1649he already weighs more then taggart. 06-07-2006, 03:47 PMexcytinyes, Paul on Cyclone Report is reporting it as well. 06-07-2006, 03:55 PMCyinCoI believe he is considered top 50. Where are all the naysayers that said McD can't get a top 50? Wow, I knew it would be soon that I could rub top 50 in the hater's faces but I didn't think it would be this soon. McD is, without a doubt, going to be the best thing EVER to happen to ISU basketball. 06-07-2006, 04:06 PMURBCLONEQUOTE(CyinCo @ Jun 7 2006, 03:55 PM) Quoted postI believe he is considered top 50. I said I would take my hits publicly when I deserved them, so here you go. I was down on the hire and on the future recruiting. If this is a sign of things to come, then yes, I will eat some crow on this.
PS. I will say it until I am blue in the face, having a different opinion from the prevailing wisdom of the majority does not make you a hater. 06-07-2006, 04:11 PMCyinCoQUOTE(URBCLONE @ Jun 7 2006, 03:06 PM) Quoted post

Welldone URB. I greatly respect those who eat crow when necessary. 06-07-2006, 04:18 PMMNcloneIn case you didn't see it in the article about ISU adding the gophers to their schedule, the Cyclones had 6 players leave with elegibility remaining.
I can't stand Randy Peterson. 06-07-2006, 04:18 PMJeremyIt's official: ISU lands monster recruit!
ISU has received a verbal commitment from the 37th ranked player in the nation for the 2007-2008 Men's Basketball season.
Despite the local concerns about GMac's recruiting ability, 6-9 215lbs PF Craig Brackins had no concerns when he accepted the offer from ISU over the many other schools that have shown interest for a longer period of time. Thought to be tops on Brackins list before this announcement was Indiana, Pitt, Washington, Illinois, and Clemson.
Craig Brackins leads a list of big-name 07-08 and 08-09 recruits that have shown mutual interest in Iowa State since Greg McDermott took over the head coaching job. While there were a few big-name players showing interest while Morgan was at the wheel, more consistently ranked and quality players have shown interest in the type of program GMac is trying to bring to Ames since the changes this past spring.
Look for more exciting news as the summer gets hotter. There are plenty of offers being extended and Iowa State is being looked at more as a top-tier program nationally than ever before. We might just be reaching a place where we can say the "switch has been flicked" for ISU's Men's Basketball program.
