Have we ever had any football coach assistant or otherwise that can walk into a recruit's living room and flash a National Championsip ring? I don't believe so.

Hopefully he'll be a good enough recruiter that he won't even need to do that. Maybe just use it as icing on the cake when he's really got someone interested.

My sentiments exactly. Most other possible hires would need to gain credibility on the field. This guy jumpstarts the process - he is 2-3 years ahead of everyone else on the list in terms of recruiting credibility.
