Assistant Coaches Salaries
Does anyone know who decides what each assistant makes out of the total amount ear-marked for football assistants? I would really like to see us spend as much as we can to bring in a really good offensive coordinator to assist Chizik. Maybe something in the range of 300k, what does everyone think...

He makes 400k down at LSU, a school with massive funding ability. 300k would get us a VERY nice oc, IMO.

Re: Assistant Coaches Salaries
In 2006 Barney Cotton made $171,762.50. John Skladany made $174,416.67. Those were our top dogs (not counting DMac obviously)

Re: Assistant Coaches Salaries
In theory if we wanted to pay all assistants the same they would get 166k, not that far off from what we used to pay our coordinators. It is a whole new day for ISU football, and about time in my opinion. Im sure we used to have assistants making around 100k or less.
My thouhgt would be to pay OC about 300k, DC about 200k, and the other 7 around 140k depending on the guy, give or take a little.

Re: Assistant Coaches Salaries
Grad assistants dont make much. How often does a defensive minded head coach assume his own DC position? Im just wondering if Coach Chizik is going to hire an extra grad assistant and leave more money for other coaches.
Gosh I wish he would just hire them already. This suspense is going to be nearly as bad as waiting for HIS hire.

Re: Assistant Coaches Salaries
ISU paid assistants 1,098,904 in 2005. Texas paid 1,566,150.
Money shouldn't stop us from brining in top notch coordinators now. http://www.fanblogs.com/big12/005436.php -
Re: Assistant Coaches Salaries
we are offering 1.5mil? Texas is paying 1,566,150?
Why doesn't pollard give Chizik 1,566,151 for assistance?
Then we could move up in rankingss :)
