Iowa vs. ??

Haven't kept up on bowl season since we are not bowling ourselves....can anyone fill me in on possible opponents for Iowa down in San Antonio?

I saw a couple of predictions with Kansas State or Missouri.

ohh man that would be sweet if they played mizzou and mizzou whooped up on them. Then you could almost argue their season ended on a lower note than ours....i suppose they went to a bowl game and we didn't is a pretty good argument as well.

I don't get how K-state or mizzou make the Alamo. The Nebraska Oklahoma winner obviously goes to the BCS. I see the loser of that game and Texas going to the Cotton and Holiday, which way I'm not sure. I think the Gator will opt out of chosing a Big 12 team this year because the conference is still a little down. That leaves the Alamo with the next pick. I think the logical choice there is a 9-3 A&M team that will sell a lot of tickets in San Antonio.

Mizzou finished the season on a bit of a slide, and I think A&M would sell more tickets and be more of a draw for a national tv audience. Just my two cents.

I think it would be sweet if they played Mizzou...and lost (hopefully badly).

Iowa fans stick their noses up to Mizzou for backing out of their home-and-home contract, and naturally they like to berate the Tigers and call them sissies (or worse...use your imaginations). Imagine the delight in Iowa fans if they got to play Mizzou...and now imagine their utter disdain when they lose to a team they thought was afraid to play them.

Poetic justice? I think so.

I hope its Mizzou too. But I HATE Mizzou (Pinky) more than Iowa after the wining of the holding call.

At the risk of getting run off this board, I root for Iowa (just a little) as long as I am not around A-hole hawk fans that belittle ISU.

When it comes to Big 10 vs. Big 12, I always root for the Big 12, no matter how much I hate Gary Pinkel (which is considerable).

Normally I would root for the Big 12 over Iowa too, but pinky is an exception. My other exception used to be Colorado when Slick Rick was the coach.

I actually rooted for Nebraska back in the day (unless against Florida State, I like Bowden, and Charlie Ward was one of my all-time favorites)

Alamo likes to have one team that is somewhat local. I would bet texas tech or texas A&M go before Mizzou
