Heidi just reported that if WV beats Rutgers, the Gator Bowl is likely to take them and leave Texas to the Alamo Bowl.
I don't think Iowa wants ANY part of Texas

I don't think Iowa wants ANY part of Texas I think that would prove there is karma in football. Iowa is headed straight for a Texas-sized buzz saw! | |

I see that matchup actually looking a lot like NE vs Michigan. I think UT will feel a little snubbed, and will have kind of given up on the season. I can see Iowa actually getting up for this game since its a big name, and Tates homecoming. I don't see Texas caring about Iowa at all.
Could be an upset.

who would go to the cotton and the holiday bowls? With the winner of OU and Neb going to BCS and the loser of that likely going to the Cotton, who goes to the Holiday bowl?

I don't think Iowa wants ANY part of Texas I spoke with Coach Ferentz at a JH basketball game this afternoon and he's operating under the assumption that it's going to be UT. I commented "tough draw" and he just gave this little smile and said, "no kidding". Also, he's never met Gene Chizik, but he thinks it's a "good get" for ISU.
Finally, I doubt that he fears having to play Texas, given that he's already faced OSU and Michigan this season.

I would love it if Texas plays EIU. In simple man's terms.... EIU's *** is grass and Texas is the lawnmower. And as one drunk pukeye worthless announcer says.....
I love it, I love it, I love it...........as Texas beats em 56-7

I agree with you all... Look, Iowa didn't have to accept anything! If they draw the Longhorns, so be it! (...that Texas defense will be just a little taste of what's to be expected of ISU in the coming seasons!) Be intresting to see how the "Talk-eyes" respond.

I would be so nervous about the game.
As people mentioned earlier, Texas probably won't be thrilled being "rewarded" with the Alamo bowl and Iowa after a 3 loss season following their NC win.
Iowa is more than happy they're getting so good as the Alamao with a 6 loss season, and getting to play the ex NC champ.
Iowa wins big in the motivation and emotion going to this game...
And with Texas' recent struggles, and Chizik now gone ( ) so defense woes might not get fixed...
With that said, I still think Texas'll win
