NU wins,
Good-give more respect for the B12N.
Bad-may take regional recruits aways from ISU.
Bad-egos in nebr inflate even more
OU wins,
Good, keeps NU down somewhat.
Bad, makes the B12N look worse.
What does everyone else think? Any other thoughts?

GC will be giving the North plenty of respect in the near future. So, it doesn't matter.

Today, still wanted by BCS teams, he survives as a coach of fortune. If you have a problem - if no one else can help - and if you can find him- maybe you can hire: Gene Chizik.

First of all I don't think it matters....I don't think ISU cares...
I am going to root for OU because I don't need to listen to the NU fans....
But in a stretch...NU is a North team. If it was any other team from the north, except maybe CU, I would root for the Big 12 North team...

I don't think OU can beat NU tomorrow at Arrowhead for one simple reason. The weather will be terrible. Norman, OK hasn't seen freezing temperatures this year until today. That's why B12S teams don't schedule B12N teams late in the season. Weather doesn't make a difference? I think it '85 or '86 when a #10 OSU team lead by Barry Sanders came to Ames and got beat in Zero degree weather 21-10. 4,000 fans showed up. I'm sure there are even better examples out there.
You have no idea how difficult it is for me to say I think NU could win. I grew-up in SW Iowa and was traumatized by repeated exposure to Nebraska media coverage and fans. Lived in Grand Island, NE when NU won back to back national championships. Not asking for sympathy. I may also be genetically predisposed to root against Nebraska Football (NUF) and Kansas Basketball (KB). I have even found it difficult to root for NUF and KB when even when they have played for a national championship. It's just not in my DNA. My wife also went to OU.

I'm going to flip a coin before kickoff to choose the team I'll root for. Even then, I'm just going to enjoy the game.
Should be a good one.

Nebraska beats Oklahoma, hands down..
Does ISU care, of course! B12 north needs this win to prove north is as good as south. Come on guys, we gotta root for north team to win this one. Remember last year? Colorado got raped, we cant let this happen again!!!!! Go big Red, do some damage already

I do think, no matter who wins the game, either team will get soundly defeated in their BSC game, depending on who they play.
I wasn't really impressed by any of the Big 12 teams this year. I was by Texas for a little bit but that was short lived.
The fact that we were in that game until the Parker personal foul penalty should have indicated to many fans that Texas just wasn't all that.

If we had played well against the teams from either division, you might be able to extrapolate something from the North winning the title game, but we didn't. Division strength did not make or break ISU this year.
In the future, let's go ahead and win the game ourselves to prove our worth.

I'm rooting for Oklahoma.
The Big12 North does need respect but not at the expense of giving Nebraska momentum. Do any of us really want to deal with "Nebraska, Big XII Champions"? Personally, I would like to see ISU be the ones that earn the North respect again.

i am going for nu because we play them every year and it looks better if we beat them..or lose to them
| Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative. ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other." |
