"Throw-back" uniforms for one game? Increase NCC Membership.

Excellent question jkoo!!! The NCC Membership can be found, by level, under Donor Information on the NCC link at www.cyclones.com. Without looking, I think it is <8,000 members of which 75% live in Iowa.

Below is a link showing the NCC Membership vs. Living Alumni by State. As you will see, the membership is very low and needs to grow considerably under the new leadership if we expect ISU Football to achieve and maintain success.

Hearing a lot of information on uniform ideas, which has been discussed at length in other threads. Would like to hear more about the Throw-Back uniform purchase/drawing concept to increase NCC membership. Would it be a big enough incentive to get ISU fans to become NCC members? What does the NCC need to do to encourage membership?

I think someone earlier hit is right on about the throwbacks. This "gift" could really only be available at the hight giving levels. Its hard to make it an incentive if the giving level is minimal.

You aren't alone, personally I'm a big fan of the red-on-red. Cardinal is our first color anyhow. Good point about looking like a knock-off...it would be tough to change now and not look like another.

The hiring of Chizik should go a long ways to increase the NCC memberships.

I don't have a strong preference. I like the red but more gold would be fine. JUST NO DARN YELLOW. It is not our color and urine looks better on our rival.

We never won the Big 8. The split with Colorado is it as far as it goes when it comes to football championships.

As far as unis, I'm open to most everything, as long as we keep our sparkling darker red helmets w/ the whirlybird. They can do pretty much what they want with the facemask. Personally, I'd like them to either go back to the midnight blue or switch to a red that matches the helmet.

If I had a choice, I might like to see the FSU scheme, with the gold pants and cardinal jerseys at home and cardinal pants and white jerseys on the road. And incorporate midnight blue into the uniforms as a small trim color. I know midnight blue isn't a traditional color, but I think our uniforms just look better with midnight blue as the accent as opposed to white.

And get rid of the mustard yellow - I'm tired of looking like our uni's are just waiting to have a McDonald's ad placed on them.

No blue, our colors are Cardinal and Gold. Our logo sucks, so go with gold helmets, grey masks. If a logo has to go on the helmet, make it a red "I" or "ISU".

Our logo is horrible on TV, it just doesn't work next to the score, and the color of the uniforms can disappear on the camera. We need a uniform for the ages and stick with it. I think a definate ISU on the helmets would be the best, whether its the old I with ISU in it, or a staggered ISU. Since the Hawks abondon the I, I'd go with that, and two tones uniforms. I think Pollard with make a change that looks like a college uniform should.

So says the 5% that thinks we should remember the 0-11 to 5-6 record years. The old, and I mean old, unis are tired and ugly. Why is everyone so longing for the years when we sucked the big one? It should all be put behind us and forgotten forever instead of being pined for.

Have yuo gone to the Ath. Dept. rummage sale during the spring game? Last year I got 1 red and 1 white authentic, blank football jersey. They were the ones with the yellow "I"'s around the neck and sleeves. And i got them for $10 a piece! I put my name and numbe on it and VOILA.
You are right about the sleeves. They make all the difference.

You are right about the sleeves. They make all the difference.

Im glad I am not the only one on this.

I did actually email JP and hope to hear back from him. It would be sweat to to get a current one. But those ones with the "I" on them werent to bad.

For the jerseys we have now, I like them. I am simple. Keep it simple. I hate the retro, urban Nike jersey's you see out there these days. I perfer the red on red, but hate the white on white. Texas's uniforms have got to go. Now I hope a makeover of the logo is in order. Its too busy, hard to make out, and the blue has got to go.

I agree on who ever said "cardinal and gold are our colors" not blue, navy, or anything else.

Here is a challenge for any who accept. Take a pic of our current jerseys and photshop it into what you would like to see.

There has been hush hush talk about possibly the ISU/Iowa game being a throwback game this next year. I haven't heard anything about it recently but it wouldn't surprise me considering Barta and Pollard's friendship.

LOOKS GOOD...Now just get the Helmet from ( I believe in 81' when Archer & Crutchfield were playing with the ISU emblem like Seattle has.) Bring back the USC pants, and you have our version of UCLA only cooler....
