While getting answers to emails regarding some personal non-important information with JP, I got some info that I would like to share. Hopefully this will clear up some rumors, and also help others as it has helped me.

There have been some rumors going around about possible uniform changes. Now though it is fun to be imaginative and creative, these rumors are incorrect. In fact there has been no discussion what so ever about changing the uniforms. The process actually takes about 10 months to complete and as it has seemed, the prior coaching staff have already ordered the uniforms for next year.

I write this FYI up to hopefully clear up the speculation going around, as JP himself stated, the only discussion that he has heard of possible uniform changes were on this site! And I would hate to see this site be slammed with false content that ruins its credibility with the cyclone nation.

Now Leesha Zimmerman who is the Trademark Officer for Iowa State gave me some great info. For those looking at a more authentic looking jersey, you may be in luck. It seems that Nike does make jerseys of this quality, but her understanding is that only the top schools get an exact version of their jersey to sell on the retail market. This unfortunately rules ISU out of that list. So she first recommends to keep letting her know of your interest in such a product so that they can pass it along to Nike themselves. Next she gave me a great list of licensed vendors who produce some replica jerseys. If you would like that list, please just let me know and I can email that to you.

Now Leesha had a great recommendation that many of you might be interested in. “Van Ginkel Athletic Mfg. Co. Inc., out of Des Moines, has produced replica jerseys that look pretty good for families of the players.” There phone number is 1-800-234-7718 and ask for either: Greg, Gerry, or Denise. She did note that she wasn’t sure if they would still have football jerseys at this time, but it would be worth a phone call.

I hope this helps with clearing up rumors, and assisting those who were on the search for some ISU apparel.

HUH? A few threads that state the personal uniform wish lists of a few members would in no way ruin a fan site's credibility. I think you're reading way too much into nothing.

See, I don't think I am. Though I see exactly where your coming from, and agree with you in part, other issues have proven otherwise.

I just wanted to make sure that in no way was CF stating that the uniforms were being changed in anyway.

It's an internet message board, people are going to say and speculate about anything they want.

I can guarantee you this subject will continue to come up, from now until the end of time.

Plus, I highly doubt JP gives much credence to what is discussed on this site or any other Cyclone message board. I know he listens to what we have to say, but believing something here is an entirely different story.

I think Chris was just trying to let people know that he had been told from "The Man" that no changes were in store for at least the 2007 season. I am one of those that likes the idea of a new style but I also realize that it's nice to have official word that we shouldn't be expecting it too soon.

I think C.John and ISUFan were just meaning that they don't think that anyone thinks that changes are coming just because we post ideas on here. It's good to have a final answer, but I'm sure people will still speculate on what they would like.

Ok here it goes!

I wrote this for a few reasons:
1) Thought people would like to know what to expect next year.
2) To put to rest the rumors of throw backs and ISU personnel working with Nike for next year.
3) To help anyone looking at trying to go about getting the most authentic looking jersey out there.

Thats it, nothing else.

I was going to respond, but since this thread has turned into a Jeremy and Guitar love fest, I think I'll pass.

Just remember Guitar, this is a message board. If you post something then you should be prepared for a response. And more than likely that response will be of a differing opinion than your own. I read what you typed and had a differing opinion than you. But instead of merely responding with why you felt that way, you turned this into a 'Whoa is me, I'm don't know what to say anymore', pity poor lil me thread. Whatever. If you need your ego stroked, well I'm not going to do it.
