OC pay
Was bored in class and found this...
"Word is Iowa State is paying its new offensive coordinator Robert McFarland $300,000. He was the head coach of Stephen F. Austin. He and new ISU coach Gene Chizik have worked together in the past. ..."
Does this seem right, I don't know what the average is, how much did Cotton get paid?? http://www.sportingnews.com/yourturn...c.php?t=156171 -
Re: OC pay
Cotton got a little under 188k this year

Re: OC pay
somehow Tony Alford got $198k, must be more incentives in Barney's pay?
-
Re: OC pay
To get a current head coach to come be your OC, you've got to pony up the big bucks. $300,000 sounds about right.
That being said, McFarland better work his *** off to earn it.

Re: OC pay
where did you get that info for the assistants pay?

Re: OC pay
According to the state employee salary database, Cowboy Cotton made $171,762.50 last year including $15,793.42 for travel expenses. With the $1.5m Chizik has available, he can afford to pay his oc/dc higher. -
Re: OC pay
from the state salary database

Re: OC pay
Sounds about right. I was thinking maybe $400,000 to attract a name coordinator, and that figure sounds about right for a head coach at a lower level to take it. -
Re: OC pay
Then Barney really was paid $171k. I think $200km is about normal for the OC in most leagues. Skaldany as OC will probably get about 150k at Central Florida. CF is on the rise. They should be much better in five years.

Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -
Re: OC pay
Cost of living is quite a bit higher in Florida, also.
If its true that McFarland is getting $300K to come here, he'd better be all that and a bag of chips. I'm not terribly impressed by his resume......although I trust Chizik to make the right hires, when I saw how much Pollard was willing to pony up for assistants I figured that we would get some big names from some big programs. Not so much, yet.

Re: OC pay
Skaldany is going to CF as DC isn't he?

Re: OC pay
Actually Florida is a pretty cheap place to live as they have no state income tax. The cost of living in Tampa Bay is only 1.3% higher than living in Des Moines. (This according to the monster.com cost of living calculator)
