any update on bernstine?

I was just curious if anybody has any updated info on bernstine and if he is condering us yet, and if he has been contacted?

Well it is apparent that UCLA has moved up. Using my common sense, this would mean that ISU is really falling behind and would be tough to pull him in. You already had favorite Iowa, and now UCLA getting warmer. This would be difficult.

I agree-one player does not make the team- Its his choice to go where he wants- would be nice to see what he can do here at Iowa State.

Seneca Wallace! but i do see where your coming from but in rare instances there is and acception to the rule and i think everyone would agree Seneca is an acception.

I'll take someone that will give 100% to whatever program he is in. If we land such a kid that only has a lukewarm desire to be in Ames vs. somewhere else they will still be an asset.

Dong forget there is a slim possibility that he has more interest now with Chizik. Maybe its the coach, maybe it its the playing style, maybe its just a completely different vibe with everything, but Bernstine just might have a different outlook on this program now than he did before. So I would question his decision making and ambition to play in Ames.

If I remember right, a lot of people were still in favor of P'Allen coming here even after the long decision making. This kid as sure, then wasn't. We thought we had him, then we didnt.

So if Bernstine is as good as he is talked about, then we should want him to come here, no matter how undecided he may be at this time. Just hopefully he comes will all the passion and athleticism to help this program.

he is a top 100 player and we definetely need him.. saftey position is important in the tampa 2 defense. if he doesnt have interest in us right now then its chiziks job to get him to want to be here. that is what recruiting is about. if we are to compete in the big 12 were gonna need to have players like him. i just hope chizik can get some other players to complement him because the best pass defense is a good defensive line putting pressure on the qb and forcing the offense to obvious passing situations

we could definitely use him, but we don't need him. I would bet on Chizik getting a JUCO safety or two in.

It is Chizik's job to get players like Bernstine to come to Iowa, but to come in and change a guys mind right away isn't how recruiting works. It a several year process to develop a relationship with the kids, so expecting him to step in and convince a senior like Bernstine to come to ISU is completely unreasonable.
