If you go to coaching staffs at cyclones.com, the McC staff was erased for previous season all the way back. They must have had links to 2006 season. I guess when you are let go, all mention disappears even in 2002 season. http://www.cyclones.com/SportSelect....&Q_SEASON=2002 Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -
Re: Jeff Koonz, 7th verified ISU assistant
Looks like three more positions to fill (maybe special teams, tight ends, offensive line, running back) plus clarify the offensive and defensive grad assistants. Do grad assistants change much when coaching staffs change?
I am going to open the coach controversary - looks like our OC has not filled the holes as fast as the DC with help of HC. Could some other ex ISU coach be picked up? Fitch was an interesting addition. Or is the focus on defense first, and offense second? The oline coach is one we sorely need.
Nebraska has been interviewing people for dline coach to replace Blake: Mississippi, Texas, Alabama, and one other state. They are interviewing for someone from same area as our coaches. Interesting.

Re: Jeff Koonz, 7th verified ISU assistant
we already have an o-line coach, McFarland will be coaching the offensive line and Bolt will prolly be coaching some kind of linebackers! Koonz will prolly be linebackers or safeties, so that just leaves 1 or 2 openings, I would say!

Re: Jeff Koonz, 7th verified ISU assistant
Nebraska just hired Buddy Wyatt, the DL coach off the Alabama staff. He will start immediately. This will help offset the loss of John Blake. Wyatt has coached the DL at Alabama, Texas A&M, Oklahoma State, and Colorado. Supposed to be another top notch recruiter with ties to Texas, Florida, and the SEC.
I still think there may be a couple more changes with the Nebraska staff.

Per Cyclones.com “Robert McFarland has had tremendous success as an offensive coordinator and I think he is the best offensive line coach in the country,” Chizik said. My guess is that we already have our offensive line coach.
As far as the other position coaches, it is possible some may be obligated to their current teams until after the bowl games.
