Why the advertisements for the Capital Classic?

Could someone tell me why we kept seeing advertisements for the Cyclone Capital Classic that was played last weekend, December 16, 2006. This is Tuesday, December 19, 2006. I wonder if anyone is calling Dahl's right now for tickets.

I know of at least one other game when they were advertising a game that was already played too so this wasn't the first time this season. That time it was a fluke, but a second time,,,,,and so many times???

I wonder if it has something to do with the advertising packages that are available. I see this kind of thing all the time (advertising for something that has already happened) and wouldn't think that many people would be so reckless with their advertising dollars. At the very least though you would think you could get them to run a different commercial in that spot.

When I checked, 100.3 FM (The Bus) in Des Moines wasn't broadcasting the pre-game. I switched to an Ames station, so I'm not sure when it finally came on. They actually missed the pre-game and most of the first half of a game earlier this year. I hope somebody in the AD is keeping track.

I'm guessing they didn't have enough advertising for all the slots and needed some filler. Pretty sad if that was the case...

Yes, this is the second time this season already.

I think the other time it happened, it was only once...not every commercial break. That makes WOI look like morons.

KXNO did that all fall too. They would be advertising for football game (buying tickets, etc) that had just been played.

I honestly don't think that it has anything to do with ISU. Just pi$$ poor production direction and producing.

Speaking of which. Will somebody please, Please, PLEASE tell that freaking director for ISU basketball that the wideangle "endzone shot" of the court is the absolute worst angle for the game. You see nothing extra - less actually, nobody likes it and you aren't being "creative" by doing it. You're not Steven Spielberg going for the Oscar for cinematography

Just stick with the mid court wide angle and give the sideline or baseline close ups during foul shots and replays.

Oh, and I don't really care for "scores around the country" on top of the arena shot, while we're running inbounds plays. How many baskets have we missed because of that little worthless tidbit?

CTN is looking more and more like amateur hour. I'm actually begging for Phillips Big 12 broadcasts to start.
