I thought MT played more under control last night; hopefully a sign of things to come. Then I checked the box score and saw that he still had 5 turnovers. I thought that if this ends up being a "normal" night for him, he is bound to approach the single season record. Here's the breakdown:
MT is averaging 5.4 TO/game. At this pace, and assuming a 31 game season, he ends with167 and breaks Jamaal Tinsley's record of 156. Additional games in the Big 12 tourney, or NIT will increase his projection, of course.

McDermott addressed Taylor's TOs on the post-game show. He said that even though he had 5 turnovers, he didn't see the "out of control" turnovers that Mike has been having. They were more the result of errors trying to "create" something for the team, which is more acceptable than tearing into a double-team and getting into trouble. Essentially, Mike still has work to do, but he's improving. That's all you can ask for.

It just didn't seem like he had the force-it mentality of the past. I can live with how he ran things last night.

I'm not too concerned with his turnovers right now. He has the ball way more than anyone else and is just getting used to "real" D1 ball. He'll fix it, he is way to good of a ball handler not to. Also, Jamaal Tinsley is the turnover leader at ISU. Last I heard he was ok. *sarcasm*
