Sorry if I don't play along, but we're pulling out "Sports Illustrated" sources to laugh at a University President search? I love to seet he squaks spin in the wind anytime, but that's like looking to Newsweek for the Playmate of the Year discussion.

Yeah, this discussion needs to be squashed here and now. I've been paying pretty close attention to this thing. The UI hasn't done anything wrong; they've actually done a lot of things right, but have been overridden by our insane Board of Regents.

That's the problem here: the Regents. Michael Gartner is a certifiable nutcase, and he's been doing a hell of a lot of shady stuff during the last few months. The UI faculty senate, staff senate, and College of LAS senate have all passed motions of no-confidence in the Regents, and the students are set to do so as soon as classes resume.

Remember, these are the same Regents that oversee UNI and Iowa State as well as the UI, so if Iowa is in trouble with them, then so are we.
