The Midlands are coming. 44th Annual Midlands that is. The Midlands Tournament is one heck of a gauge for how Nationals could go. They are on the 29th and 30th at Northwestern University.

Wow, the top two seeds for 184 are both unattached? That's pretty unusual.

Also, I've been wondering this for a long time- what is considered "heavyweight"? Is it anyone who weighs more than 197, or do they have a minimum/maximum weight, as well?

Maximum weight is still 285 as far as I know. To wrestle HWT, one must weigh at least 183 lbs. But if a wrestler weighing in for heavyweight does so and does not weigh more than 197 lbs, they forfeit their eligibility for the 197 class.

This is true as far as the 2002 rules revision goes.

How many other DIII wrestlers are listed there besides the Wartburg HWT? I knew Wartburg was good, but is it normal for DIII's to have ranked wrestlers in this thing?

I lot of DII, DIII wrestlers go as unattached, Wartburg's HWT is one of the best around. He tore apart the big guys at my districts my freshman year. Great athlete.
