At least he did not mention the pigs.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -
Re: Tate on Iowa: “There’s nothing really going on there".
I hope that Tate's comments were taken out of context for they make him seem like an uneducated fool. Who says "corn stock"? And who is conceited enough to say Iowa football is the only team that matters in the state?
If I was a reporter, my question would be "What happens to a dried up Iowa quarterback after his playing days are over??" Hmm...where did Brad Banks, Randy Reiners, and all those other gems end up?

Texans are in their own little world anyway...anyone who has been there knows they think Texas is it's own country. When the fact is, they are bigger hicks than we are. They just produce better football players.

Well, he does attend school at U of Iowa......
(too easy)
I won't say that I was "on the fence" about this game. I wanted to cheer for Iowa, I really did - home state and all. But now I'm solidly back in Big XII country.
Hook 'em.

Maybe Tate should have committed to Texas A&M after all. It is really too bad that he feels like he wasted his football playing day at Iowa! He must think very highly of himself anyway! Calling himself a "high profile" athlete! I am a Big Cyclone fan living in a Hawkeye community! Many of the Hawk fans I know were calling him everything but a "high profile" athlete! It is kind of funny how things changed after the LSU game! The Hawks luck finally ran out!

I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everyone. -
Re: Tate on Iowa: “There’s nothing really going on there".
This is Psych 101 fellas. He's just rationalizing his negative publicity by taking a jab at the entertainment options in Iowa. He's selectively ignoring the likelihood that regardless of where he played his college career, he would have taken the same amount of flak for his poor on-field performances.
I am personally not at all offended by his remarks, as it just shows how small of a person he is at heart. Plus, he's right... our state is a little boring. ;)

I read that article this morning, wow either I need to hear the whole interview or this guy is trying to burn a lot of bridges.

He's a high profile athlete.hahahahahhah................................... Excuse me DREW! All i see is someone who b**ches all of the time and gets injuried.

If he is high profile then I am high profile (and I am most certainly not), I love to see him play out his true baby-like self for the media. Who can forget his comming out party against OSU last season when he spiked the ball into the ground and got all upset. He would be a pretty good QB is he could throw the ball as well as he can throw a hissy-fit.
Boom.....transfer the karma -

Sounds to me like the U of I scholarship was put to good use. He's got all the traits of a hawkeye.
1) He's never lost. No, no, no silly Cyclones. Hawkeyes don't lose, they just win in the opposite direction.
2) It's not his fault. There's always somebody to blame. Ed Hightower, you wanna back me up on that?
3) His head is so big, that he can barely fit through the door. Not literally, of course. Unless we're talking about Fred Russel. That guy had a melon!

Typical Hawk though, arrogant and thinks he's God's gift to the whole state of Iowa. Have fun flipping burgers at McDonald's next year Drewby.

Re: Tate on Iowa: “There’s nothing really going on there".
The only thing truthful in there is that he is surrounded weekly by people that do think that Iowa football is the only thing there is. People over there in EIU do think that there are not other teams in the state. Next year though he will be wishing that Iowa still had the Barnstormers because he has NO chance at any higher level of football.
