As a veteran of both Gulf Wars, I couldn't agree more!

You can call me the same if need be or even worse if you like but that is good news! I read it online last night and it put a smile on my face. This is a huge victory for the US, the new Iraq, and all of the U.S. military.

I think if he hangs he will be getting off easy. They should stone him. I am cruel and inhumane. I am a Marine.

Gassing of the Kurds was inforgivable. Anyone associated with that or helping with that in any way should be punished!
Oops, I guess WE gave him the gas (we have the receipts) and during the gassing, Rumsfeld was actually in Baghdad advising Hussein (there are photos of him shaking Hussein's hands). Of course, he was a former CIA operative as well.
I am also a veteran of the first Gulf War and lost close friends there, before anyone goes around labeling me as unpatriotic.
I'm not as concerned with what atrocities Hussein committed in the past (and he undoubtedly did) as I am re: the effect of his execution on the level of violence and the deaths of our brave soldiers as a result of the escalation. Life in prison, especially in an Iraqi prison, may actually be worse than hanging in many ways, and actually better for our troops and our attempt to stabilize Iraq.

I don't care what they do to him. I'm just glad he's away from civilization.

Someone should make him watch the Iowa basketball game followed by the Alamo Bowl with a large group of Hawk fans.. thats enough to kill anyone.

I do agree with your slant on it. I'm all about taking care of our guys and gals over there. His hanging will cause a short term spike in sectarian violence. However, in the long run, his death will eliminate one of the many destabilizing influences in the region.

Thank you for your service.
The fact that he was a former CIA op makes me wonder if we'll really kill him. Don't those ex-CIA guys always get a free pass?

I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everyone.
