True and Valiant
I also remember a game with Kansas when Cy (wore a huge suit then) went out to center field, squatted, and "pooped" a couple of chickens that had been dyed blue then chased them around.

The Mrs. and I found it funny too.
I would like to see them do something with it to change it up though - make it more interesting or something.
Maybe set it up outside...and have some fake katsup/mustard the contestants must put on the sandwich. Make it good and messy. Display it on the scoreboard.

Re: Updated attendance Numbers
What ever happened to the '5 for 5' thing? That is WAY more entertaining that anything else. And seriously, the Cyclone Alley basket challege thing is just dumb. Also, can we get rid of at least 1 of the apple/basketball shuffle? What ever happen to the Apple Race?

Re: Updated attendance Numbers
If I hosted it, I'd end up turning it into a mud wresting event only involving the female student population. :)
I liked the 5-for-5 thing too.

Re: Updated attendance Numbers
One thing I always wished they would do, is take somebody from the student section, and have them shoot like a free throw or something. If they make that, they get 50 or 100 bucks or something. Then have them shoot a 3-pointer, and if they make that, they get like a 500 dollar gift certificate to University bookstore for books. Then have them shoot a halfcourt shot or something crazy and if they make that they get free tuition for the semester or something.
The crowd would go nuts for that.

Man, I do NOT miss the 'broke all the time' aspect of college life. They could at least throw in a chocolate shake!
Yeah well, ya know, that's just, like uh, your opinion, man. -

The crowd would go nuts for that. Bryce you must not remember 5 For 5. I was there one of the times some kid hit all five and won the car. Hilton was nuts when he did that.
When exactly did they stop doing 5 for 5? Anyone know?

Re: Updated attendance Numbers
Perhaps the dealership stopped sponsoring it and they couldn't get another?

I'm trying to recall the guy's name that "hosted" it. That guy got older and in the later 90's, I think, Lou from KGGO started hosting it and it just wasn't the same and started to fade.
Please correct me if I'm wrong. And tell me what the first guy's name was.

Re: Updated attendance Numbers
Wasn't it "Hi Ed!!!" who hosted it?

Re: Updated attendance Numbers
Better than Kobe and Big Dog eating 55 hotdogs on Fourth of July by Nathan's. That is just plain gross.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -

Now, what happened to Ed? I believe Ed Gagnier's still around Ames. Here's his blurb from his induction to the Cyclone Hall of Fame in 1998: Gagnier built the Cyclone men’s gymnastics program from scratch beginning in 1963. He became one of the nation’s most decorated gymnastics coaches during his 22-year tenure. Three times he was selected as national coach of the year. His 1971, 1973 and 1974 teams won NCAA Championships, while 10 of his squads captured Big Eight Conference titles. Gagnier’s gymnasts won 16 individual NCAA titles, 71 Big Eight Conference events and earned All-America honors 53 times. Yeah well, ya know, that's just, like uh, your opinion, man.
