ISU loses to MU 66-56

The Iowa State women lost on the road to Missouri by a score of 66 to 56. Nicky Wieben paced the Cyclones with 14 points while Toccara Ross was the team leader in rebounds with 10. The lost drops ISU to 13-2 on the season and 1-1 in conference play. LINK to the article over at cyclones.com

I was kinda surprised to read Bill saying this is the worst coached team he has ever had. Maybe it was just a frustrated moment for him.
Maybe he's trying to light a fire under their butts.

I'm sure that was fueled by some major frustration. I've got a feeling that the girls are going to be putting some extra effort into practice this week.

I liked how Lyndsey took the blame for many of the mishaps. She's a senior and a leader and it shows with her comments and actions off the court.

Up next @ CU on the tenth. Let's learn from tonight's game and go get the Buffs. Go Clones.

I wouldn't be surprised if he had them running steps at Trice

Hopefully they'll bear down and keep digging. From everything I've had the chance to read, they could still put together a very very nice season.

I wouldn't make a lot of that comment from Fennelly. If you ever listen to his radio interviews after a game he's always saying things like, "we weren't prepared and that's my failure as a coach. etc, etc."

The comment is actually kind of laughable because the "worst-coached" Iowa State women's basketball teams is still one of the best coached teams in the Big 12.

(This isn't meant to be some Bill Fennelly love-fest on my part. I'm still a little sick to my stomach we lost that game. Thank goodness the men won, or I'd be a totally bummed Cyclone right now.)
