Ahhh, I see. I just figured they confused us with Ohio State. Both begin and end in vowels, both have 4 letters, it's an easy mistake.

Ya think that's what happens to recruits? They think they're headed to be a Cyclone and wind up with "Ohio State" on their jersey and yell "Awwww crap!"

Yeah, seriously. I'm honestly shocked to see no Top 10 Hawkeye team for next fall. Two years ago when the Hawks were in town following their "big" win over Ball State they liked to chant "We're No. 8!" like they deserved a medal for it.

ESPN still has blisters from being burned by exalting Iowa as one of their "Final Four" football teams in the country in 2006 before the season started. Me thinks they are a little gun shy of falling in love with Kirk's team again. I can't decide if I like it better when they get the preseason kudos and choke or don't get any attention at all. Both highly enjoyable.

By the time spring practice rolls around I would be willing to bet that some of these idiots have Iowa in their preseason top 25. After the past two disaster of seasons, Iowa SHOULD have to prove it on the field to be ranked, but we shall see.
