I really like listening to this guy call a game... He's had some great quotes tonight.
"Michael Taylor is the kind of player that can keep both teams in the game"
"I wish everybody who loves college basketball could experience this atmosphere today"
"Wesley Johnson. Remember the name. You'll be hearing it a lot in the next 3 years."

He's always been a fan of Hilton.
| JOIN THE NATIONAL CYCLONE CLUB! “If we truly want to do this, this is the time to step up. Iowa State University has 175,000 living alumni. If one-of-every-10 living alumni joined the National Cyclone Club at the minimum level of $100, we could finance $30 million worth of construction." Jamie Pollard |

I loved that series he wrote for ESPN.com a few years ago going in depth on things like Syracuse's zone or Roy Williams' secondary break. You don't see much intelligent discussion of things like that on those sites.
It seems like guys like he and Sundvold don't get the respect they deserve from their bosses because they aren't flashy but I'll take one of them over Vitale every single time.

Exactly, bring that team to ames every game on ESPN, they were giving us the love & respect we deserve.
Plus, for once a espn announcing crew who sounded like they researched our team and didn't just show up at the game and look at the program to get prepared for the game.

I was at the game, but I heard from a friend watching that they said "You'll see that on the And 1 tour" after one of Mike's great takes to the basket.

Fraschilla's favorite atmospheres
"Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative."

Fran Fraschilla has finally found his calling, I live in New Mexico and followed the Lobo's when he coached here. He followed the Dave Bliss(Baylor) mess and tried to change the "Bliss culture" here at New Mexico............he got fired big time in 2002....just couldn't get it right. Albuquerque is a Basketball town......"the Pit" and their Lobo's are king here......they suck again this year and Richie McKay is on the hot seat, he recurits players who leave programs. Remember JR Giddens from KU, he is a Lobo now.
Fran F is a great announcer and loves Hilton.....I hope he keeps his job at ESPN and doesn't coach again
