Just a couple of comments from the game:
First off, WOW! What a game. I know we didn't win but the effort and focus was there. A couple more plays that work and we won this game. This is KU folks! And we took them to the wire. I like that. I still really wish we would have won. However, I now feel like we can beat any team in the big XII at Hilton. Actually, I almost expect that we will.
One thing I didn't like was Mike Taylor's pull up 3 on a fast break with about 5:30 to go. I thought the ball should have come out top and we should have eaten clock. Other than that, I thought it was a well played game both offenisvely and defensively.
I again have hope that we can beat ANYONE. I haven't had that feeling in a while. It's good to have it back.
Go Clones. Great game. Great Effort.
PS... the crowd was awesome.

I take some consolation in the fact that we probably impressed a LOT of recruits.

As others have said a few times today, I hope we don't get on a big moral hangover. We should have gained a TON of experience and confidence today. We now know that we should be able to hang with anyone anywhere anytime.
If we keep working hard we could put together a surprisingly nice season.
It was a great game to watch.
Any bets as to how many free throw they'll be doing in practice on Monday??
Very proud to be a Cyclone!

On another note, I really thought Jiri looked good again. He was playing defense, and taking it to his guy on offense. I did see him take a 3. Jiri is my new favorite player. Kudos to him.

Jiri put together a pretty nice game. I like how he still fought hard and smart after he got his 4th foul.

I am too really liking Jiri. He is doing an excellent job and with Brackens next year along with Thompson our inside game may be our strength. It will also relieve Clark and Wesley a little bit to allow them to play more of their natural position. I think our future looks bright.
Still upset however not having Dodie on the floor at the end. He was our best shooter today and yet didn't have any ability to help when our team was struggling to get points. He's delivered in the last 2 games and Drake when the games where on the line. Hopefully Greg will not forget Dodie's ability to help the team when scoring is needed and the game is on the line.

Our shots just didn't fall at the end of the game and we sure had the chances. Yes if we would have hit more free throws, that would have iced it too.
A great defensive display. I'm disappointed we didn't win, but we have nothing to hang our head about.
No way we would have been in this game a year ago. Boy, the ESPN folks were very positive on ISU and GMac.
If we play like this the rest of the year, we've got a chance to make the dance! | | |

I also really wish Dodie would have been in during OT. In regulation, he nailed a 3 with a little over a minute left to put us up by three. I hope to see him more in the future.

I was just estatic to see the effort and see our guys frustrate their players. The rivalry is still there...I guarantee Mac won't let this game become a moral victory...there are lessons everywhere for a young team, and i too am looking forward to seeing where we go from here.
To get a win at CU this week would be a nice start...

Don't play the "what if" game. It will drive you insane. Just appreciate the effort and move on knowing how much this team has improved.

Football recruiting? How about a national televised game vs. UK and the majority of the game they are talking about the CYCLONES and Greg McDermott-- and the effect it will have on BB recruiting. When FF said something to the effect of "I wish all BB fans could see this environment" that should have worth about two McD AA signees in years to come!!

Dodie just brings so much more than McIntosh. Cory really brings nothing. He is afraid to shoot the ball and is too small to mix it up on rebounds and is exposed defensively. It also seems that when he plays he is not even the primary ballhandler. Dunson has the best set shot of anybody on this team, and will be invaluable for the rest of the season and for years to come.
