Southern Miss played Memphis and kept it close but ended up losing in a game LE was thrown out of, highlights defenitely brought back memories.

Question for those that have seen any SM games this year. Is LE any calmer with the SM players than what he was with the ISU squads? I still remain a LE fan, but I thought his stress level was a high level- most of the time. It's kind of nice to see a more relaxed/in contol GMac on the ISU sideline.
Also- any report on whether or not LE did get the cure?

Thanks...I try to interject some humor around here. Who gives a rip about negative rep? It's called free speech...being PC is for cowards! Besides, the idea of giving negative rep points just because you disagree with someone's opinion is bogus and perhaps the most ridiculous thing about this otherwise excellent site...especially when you can do it without signing your name or e-mail address.

Yeah I liked LE for a while, but man he was one foul mouth SOB! I remember going to a game or two and thinking man I don't want my kids to experience this(and I didn't have any yet!).

His style seemed to work fine when we had good talent and a good record, but in that last year he just screamed at players and I just didn't see any constructive results. I still remember seeing Adam Haluska sitting there and taking it and think that kid just isn't having any fun.

I hope he's learned his lesson...

Yeah, my son-in-law was a high school coach who attended one of Larry's coaches clinics in Ames...he said LE was really surly, profane and flat-out rude. I'm liking GM's presona a lot more.

Hey Bland, what is funny is that I got negative rep for putting my little sarcasm/humor into this! People are very touch when it comes to the LE. Of course nobody left their screenname for me either.

I seem to remember LE saying something along the lines of alcoholism making him an angrier, meaner coach, so hopefully if he has gotten the treatment he needed, he's a little easier on people.

Looking back on it, I'm not sorry he left when he did, as the program under his leadership had become very stagnant, but I do wish him the best.
