Re: Most classless act of 2006
that spurrier deal was pretty low budget though, and miami and fiu? that was about as classless as it gets. good find.

Miami-FIU rumble in the jungle.......or the city of Miami. No contest. :)

Re: Most classless act of 2006
The Miami announcer was worse than the fight itself. "Thats what I'm talkin bout! You don't come into the OB and talk trash to the U!" wow.

That Miami announcer was Lamar Thomas. I have actually been good friends with the Thomas family for a long time, he is anything but a thug. Lamar was raised by a great set of parents and is a great guy. Unfortunately, he start hanging out with some people when he went to Miami that were a little more shady (Luther Campbell and his little band of idiots). I know it's easy to pile on Lamar, but beleive me, he is no thug

The Miami game was definately a big mess. UNLV not leaving our field was pretty classless too but that Miami fight was just by far one of the worst incidents in recent memory.

Lamar Thomas was fired for that, and from the interviews I saw, he was extremely apologetic. Everyone brain-farts from time to time, his, unfortunately, was on national television...

After the game, Larry Coker said that there wouldn't be any suspensions and that the brawl wouldn't affect the image of the program. Hours later he reversed himself and said that there would be at least eight Miami players suspended. Who if anyone was in control of the team?

U of Miami's pregame scuffle with Louisville would rank second to the brawl with FIU. And although it was the previous season, Miami introduced their version of the WWE Smackdown with LSU in the tunnel at the Chick-fil Bowl in December 2005.

I agree UNLV's not leaving was classless, but it was classless of the refs to not tell their coach.
Remember that stressed spelled backwards is desserts!

I actually enjoyed sticking around to yell at the players, and couldn't stop laughing when their QB was still throwing warm-up balls on the sideline 15 minutes after the game was over. I also find it interesting how the article claims that we were chanting "Let's go Home." I remember chanting plenty of things, and none of them included that statement. Oh, the good times.

We were right there chanting with the students, and "Let's go home" wasn't anywhere in there. I suppose the most family-friendly ones were "Cyclone Power" and "Start The Bus" (my personal favorite). There were more uncouth chants in there as well done by smaller numbers of people.
True and Valiant
I also remember a game with Kansas when Cy (wore a huge suit then) went out to center field, squatted, and "pooped" a couple of chickens that had been dyed blue then chased them around.

Thinking the game was going to be replayerd at the end. Worth $30
The coach went looking for the refs. $50 to see.
Watching the players lay an egg on the logo. $75.
Listening to the coach explain to ESPN how they were robbed. Priceless.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -
