Being asked to kick a 54 yarder in that situation in the NFL is tough, unless your name is Adam Venatiari.

I'd change the title of this thread to 'Marty Chokes Again' after a stupid decision to throw the red flag and cost his team a timeout they could have used at the end.

54 yards is tough to call a choke but glad to see one less Hawk playing next week. Maybe Hobbs can take a shot at Dallas Clark next week?!

Vinatieri doesn't really have the leg anymore for a 54 yarder. Kris Brown of Seattle seems to be the king of game winning 54 yarders.

Not many people could make a 54 yarder to tie the game in that situation.

They had 8 seconds left...enough time to throw a quick 5 yard out to give Kaeding a better shot at the FG.

It would be to much of a risk....with no time outs left, if the receiver would have been tackled in bounds or of the QB gets sacked, San Diego would of ran out of time and not given the chance for a field goal.
