Whats your favorite sport movie? I'd have to say mine would be Days of Thunder
-
My all time favorite would probably be Remember the Titans or The Replacements.
I did recently see The Greatest Game Ever Played, and it was very very good. Probably makes the top 5.
Sure, luck means a lot in football. Not having a good quarterback is bad luck

Bull Durham is a pretty good one, but then again theres happy gilmore, theres alot of options, but im going to say Feild of Dreams, it wins the tiebreaker because it was filmed in Iowa.

Field of Dreams was my favorite movie when I was little... and I don't even like baseball... and Rudy is definately a great... I'm sure there are a lot of others but I can never remember movies off the top of my head.
This is my sarcasm pirate. There are many like it but this one is mine. -
cant forget any given sunday. Im Willy Beamin, I keep the ladies creamin, Im always steamin....
-
I can't believe nobody has said "Hoosiers". I've probably seen that movie 100 times.
"I love you guys..."
"TEAM!"
-
You know, i just saw Glory Road and thought the story of heart and fundamental basketball struck home in the ISU dept. I kind of related our team to them, minus the race issues. I mean the whole struggling with bad situations and overcoming it to become something great. I love the replacements and remember the titans as well.

"Any Given Sunday" is a terrible movie......give me "Rudy" or "Friday Night Lights" over that...
-
Hoosiers was good but the ultimate has to be Rudy. I don't shed tears at movies but everytime it gets to the end and it shows Rudy going in to tackle the opposing team's QB, I still get choked up after seeing that movie 150 times. Would love to have seen the real game
-
Along with Bryce- I'm a nut for Hoosiers, considering basketball is my co-favorite spectator sport and favorite sport to play. Just bought the special collector's version of the DVD. So many great quotable lines by Hackman and some of the players, plus the gyms they played in reminded me of the gyms I played jr. high basketball in over in Eastern Iowa growing up!
Of course Field of Dreams is great b/c it is in Iowa... and I get all nostalgic seeing the corn fields. Miracle also is very captivating.
I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. Thomas Jefferson, 1802 -
I love Rudy and Hoosiers, but I got to go with Rocky. Tell that doesn't have some relation to ISU athletics. An underdog that no one gives any shot to trying to gain some recognition! Forget all the movies in the series past maybe the 2nd one as they became more of a cartoon.
Also, not the greatest sports movie, but I love Everybody's All-American. I love the scenes of the bonfire and the pep rally and the games from the 1950's.

As good as I wanted Friday Night Lights to be, the book was far better.
Here are my Top 5:
1) The Program
2) Miracle
3) Slap Shot
4) Major League
5) Hoosiers
