Brackins?
Does anybody have an update on how Brackins season is going? Is he putting up good numbers? Does he have a shot at being a McDonalds All-American? Thanks for any info!!

Re: Brackins?
The only number that I am concerned about with Brackins is 18, the number he needs on his ACT to qualify. As far as I know he is not yet qualified academically to come to ISU in the fall. I really hope he qualifies soon as we can be a special team next year with him.

I don't like the sounds of that...where did this info come from?

Re: Brackins?
Brewster 114, Lee Academy 73 (November 15, 2006)
The boys varsity basketball team defeated Lee Academy in their home opener, 114-73. Brewster jumped out to a 66-33 lead at the half and never looked back. Brewster was led by Iowa State-bound Craig Brackins (Palmdale, CA) who had 28 points in the first half, including 6 three-pointers. Brackins finished with 32 points and 12 rebounds.
6 three-pointers in a half?? Wow, that's impressive for a 6-10 guy. I hope he can play down low, because that's where we'll need him, but that's a positive that he can knock down jump shots.
“One day we’ll be in here celebrating a Big 12 championship,” Rhoads said. “That I can promise you.” -
Re: Brackins?
I am just glad to see he is playing after his Knee injury. Must not have been serious.

It's a little more complicated than just getting an 18 on his ACT. But Brackins and our coaches know all the things he must accomplish academically, so you can be sure that Mr. Brackins is working as hard as possible to get it done.

Re: Brackins?
Brackins will be fine academically from everything I've heard. He appears to be a kid that really wants to make things happen for himself and he knows that includes the course work. As far as this year goes, he's doing good considering that he's not the only threat on the team. I think he'll fit in real well with a more experienced squad, especially now that Jiri is starting to click.
A program isn't built on one player and it doesn't succeed because of one player, thus a program won't fail if it doesn't get that one player. -
Re: Brackins?
I feel really good about next year now that Jiri is turning it on. I mean we add Brackins and he can play a more natural PF position and we can keep Jiri at the C position, we add another penetrator and defender in Garrett, and we add another shooter in Staiger. The booze can help out all around as well. God I feel good about this program.

Re: Brackins?
Thompson will be in too. He seems to be forgotten about but that will be another big body.

Re: Brackins?
Too many people don't mention Thompson. From what I am hearing, he has a great chance to be a starter next year.

Re: Brackins?

Thompson ?
W Johnson

Re: Brackins?
My guess would be
PG Garrett
SG Taylor
F W. Johnson
PF Brackins
C Jiri or Thompson
It would be hard not to start Clark only bc he is a senior
