Mitch Mustain who went 8-0 as the strarter for the razorbacks is leaving the team. Following the footsteps of offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn ( who coached Mustain in High School). Gus is leaving to become a co offensive coordinator at Tulsa. It has been rumored here( In Arkansas) he will try and follow Gus to Tulsa.
Apparently were on different terms, but wouldn't one think you would want to leave your high school coaches behind and move on to bigger and better things, like better coaches. Will he seriously make the NFL some day if he just keeps playing under his high school coach?
I could be wrong here, but isn't this the program that had parents meeting with the athletic director because they were disappointed in the type of offense? Their offense looked pretty good to me last year, so it seems weird that he would take a similar position at a lower level school, unless it was related to that pressure. Maybe Arkansas is putting out the green light to recruits and their parents that they can run the show?
Personally Im glad he is gone anyone wanting to pass the ball a bunch on a team that has the likes of Darren McFadden and Felix Jones on it just isnt the brightest. I mean Mustain might one day become a decent qb but if I had to choose between him being my go to guy or McFadden, im choosing to run the ball with McFadden that guy can flat out play.

There seems to be more to it than just a decision to take the Tulsa job. Accoording to the paper this morning Malzahn was pretty much alienated by the rest of the coaching staff. Plus the AD was blaming him for the parental meetings that Malzahn had no idea had taken place. Broyles felt that he should have been able to keep the parents in line and evidently due to that there was a rift between the two. Personally Broyles is a tool and it's long overdue for a change at the AD position. He's a relic that's set in his ways.
I wouldn't be surprised to see more players transfer out. They may still have McFadden in the backfield but this kind of controversy swirling around a team can be a killer.
