FWIW, a post on the Football Scoop board has info about Scott Fountain joining Chizik's staff. There are several factors that make it sound believable. He is currently OL coach at Georgia Southern. The head coach there just left to join Petrino with the Falcons so the staff could be looking for other options.
Fountain also spent time at UCF while Chizik was there. He was also at Middle Tennesee, but I don't think that they were there together. Good background including high school ranks in Alabama and a 3 year stint as a GA under Bowden at FSU. Supposedly he is an excellent recruiter.
He has also coached TE's so he might fit in that spot. Another possibility would be to split up the OL duties with MacFarland.
There was a Charlie Weiss sighting at Elkhorn High today in the high school. Charlie from Notre Dame was personally recruiting 6-5 290 Trevor Robinson (OL) for his team. Nebraska and others are interested. Pretty cold day for the top dog to visit little Elkhorn High in Nebraska. That is why he is paid the big bucks. Any Gene recruiting sightings at other schools?
CFH HMagic bball season.
Let my fred's Four Horsemen ride.
Footballscoop today confirms that Fountain has taken the T/TE position at ISU. I'm assuming that McFarland will handle the C/G coaching as well as OC. Additional verification is that Georgia Southern has removed SF's bio from their web page. It was there last night when I first posted the speculation that Fountain was reuniting with Chizik.
