"We can almost promise him that he can start."
Sorry, don't buy that. Not next year anyway. We have Jiri and Thompson in the paint as Center. Pencil in for Brackins as PF. SF? Try wesley and Rashon. Sorry, no room for Negedu as we can't "promise" him he will start. Yeah, its bad for recruiting him but good for ISU as we will have a lot of talent in the front court and their will be lots of competition on the floor for getting minutes.
How highly rated in Negedu? I don't think ratings mean everything, but it is good for reputation and prestige to get highly ranked recruits, if nothing else. Is he Top 100? 75?
Less than 10%.
A front line of Wesley/Negedu/Brackins looks good to me, with Thompson thrown in the first year.
But I would imagine McDermott isn't the type of coach to promise anyone a starting position.
Call me crazy, but I have a hunch that McD wiill get Negedu into Iowa State. The only thing that could stop him would be the constant bad mouthing he probably hears about ISU from P'Allen. I hope when this happens that Brackins steps up and tells P'Allen to p'stuff it.

Although the Wildcats aren't in the top 10 right now, they are in the top 20, and if I had NBA aspirations and Lute Olson was recruiting me I'd certainly give it some serious thought.
if i was a big man and GMac was recruiting me i would give ISU some serious thought. so basically what we are determining is that it could be 50/50, just as the poll is showing. I agree with those who have a hunch hes leaning isu. i on the other hand understand the arizona side.
i know they are ranked. i dont think they should be. they are ranked for the same reason that notre dame is always ranked in football. the past is the past. i think negedu sees that.
clonefan65, you cant just throw a list of every AU alum in the nba and argue that as the reason their program is better right now. i bet we can come up with a list nearly that long of clones in the league. will, marcus, jamal, jackson
