Re: E Hobbs getting some love

I am pretty sure that face guarding is only against the rules in the NFL. Not possitive, but I am almost a hundred percent sure it is legal in college. But if someone finds something that says different I would like to see it.

We could've benefited from that call numerous times this year... remember the Nebraska game?
That's what I'm saying. It seems to be a very rare call.

Flynn was in the end zone by NFL rules, let alone NCAA rules. Too bad we didn't have Gary Pinkel there to **** and moan for us.

We could've, if we were playing in the NFL. The force-out rule doesn't exist in college.

Regardless - Flynn scored vs. the Huskers. Not that I think it would've mattered in the W/L column.

Re: E Hobbs getting some love

Well if face-guarding is legal in college then that's very weird because it is illegal in high school. At least "obstructing the receiver's line of sight by putting a hand in his face" is illegal anyway. I can't see the rule changing between high school and the NFL but I suppose it's possible.

I'm pretty sure the "forced out of bounds" call is only pertinent in the NFL. In college and for sure high school you can push them out all you want as they only need to get one foot down for a completion.

You are incorrect. Rules state that you cannot face guard

Wow, Colts got away with a mugging in the endzone there! Anybody else freaked out by Caldwell's eyes?? I know I'm going to have trouble getting to sleep tonight.

True...didn't say the force out rule was a wrong call...just said we could've benefited from it.

Seems like he can only catch passes if he's got a man right on him. He should be able to zero in on those incoming passes pretty well with those huge peepers.
