I'll look it up later on sometime but it was a point of emphasis sometime in the last couple years. They went over it at the rules meetings many times stating that just because the defender doesn't make contact doesn't mean it isn't interference. Maybe too many people were getting away with it (including you) and they decided to try and clean it up. I'm not saying whether it's a good or bad rule but it IS the rule in high school.

I thought face-guarding was illegal as well, but the NFL has come out and said that it was the wrong call on Hobbs--should have been a no call.

Even without the call correction taken in to account, Hobbs had a monster game. Great to see him play at such a high level, despite what Rivers (Chargers) thinks. ;)
