Re: Not to pile on...

Jake Sullivan was block a lot?

The guards need to improve their passing. Dodie needs to get much better at tsaking more shots in first half. Do Not Wait Dodie. Brock should sit. Free throws are getting better. Team needs to try harder after watching hustle of Colorado and KState people. Cory McIntosh better find some game that he had in California and bring it. Mike tries too hard because he is too intense and never wants to quit. Are we having chemistry problems with the guaurds? Rebounding still astounds me. Turnover Alley instead of Cyclone Alley. Mike dribbles too high in a crowd. Can we find another guard as a walk on who can shoot. Can we play three forwards?

EIU is the other Okoboji University for serious students and home of Captain Kirk who pilots the Enterprise on its Trek through the Universe for finding his next great job. Captain, beware of your Superbowl.

In the last two games, our guards have shot 14-55 from the field. In the Kansas State game, only two players, Dodie and Corey scored in the first 25 minutes of the game. They scored 4 points combined (all off free throws – no guard hit a shot from the floor until Dodie made a 25 foot shot clock beating 3 pointer with 13:13 left in the second half).

Taylor was 0-fer everything until he went nuts when the game was already out of hand and KSU was cruising. He has 12 turnovers in the last two games. I know he was recruited as a SG and isn’t the kind of player that should be running point… but it’s getting ridiculous at this point. It’s beyond just learning the system or anything at this point. Taylor cannot be trusted to be a decision maker with the ball in his hands.

Plus… I hate to say this because he seems like a good guy, but Brock Jacobson is not a Division 1 player. He cannot shoot unless he is WIDE open, his release is way to slow. He’s shooting .281 on the year and he’s only made 1 shot in 10 attempts in Big 12 play.

Honestly, at this point, they should start Staiger and Garrett immediately upon arrival next year because I don’t see how the guard play can get any worse. Might as well build for the future.
What you're saying Bryce has a lot of validity in my book! But I truly believe what is really killing this team right now, is lack of a good POINT GUARD!

If we had Blalock this year a lot of those losses (like drake uni colorado) would have been wins. Our point guards make so many poor...hell just say it P*** POOR decisions with the basketball that we dont have a prayer against a lot of the teams we play.

Until Greg finds a good point guard we will not improve a whole lot or make the progress we are all looking for!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
