I've been bored these first couple weeks of the semester and decided to create a T-shirt for the Cy-Hawk game this fall.
Hopefully they will be scattered throughout the tailgate lots and The Jack Sept 15! Can't wait to see Hawk fan reactions!

I hope that Pollard is personally verifying that all potential season ticket holders are actually ISU alumni.

Yet money is money. As I stated in a separate thread, if Iowa fans (or any others) are silly enough to contribute money to the growth of Cyclone football, great!
I'll gladly take their money and in 5 or so years when we're beating the tar out of 'em - remind 'em they had a monetary impact in helping us defeat their own team. |

The shirt speaks the truth but if we hope to grow as a fan base we have to reach out to Tom & Tina Trailerpark and get them excited about ISU instead of always pulling out that old black and yeller sweater vest each fall.

i think that's a pretty stupid shirt and I cringe every time i hear that "joke". I really don't get what the insult of it is. Sure, I may feel a little additional pride for ISU athletic teams success because I attend the school, but that certainly doesn't automatically make me more of a fan than someone who didn't go here. It's a tribute to their program that they have so many fans.

Uh, I beg to differ. I think that if everything else is equal, the person who actually attended the university would get the nod as the bigger fan in most people's eyes.

My dad (who had an Iowa shirt on at the time) wore jeans shorts to the ISU vs UI game a few years back, we still laugh about how the students in IC gave him a hard time. I love the shirt. How many of us know obnoxiously prideful hawk fans who have never set foot on the U of I campus? We all know plenty. Granted, not all ISU fans are alums, but I would wager that there is a far greater percentage of Cyclone fans who are alums, than there are Hawk fans. Most Cyclone fans, even if they aren't alumni, have a strong connection to the university via family, or being from the Ames area, etc. It points out that bandwagon Hawk fans that cheer for simply because they dominated us in the 80's through the mid 90's. Great shirt joskvig! Let me know if you're going to order one cause I want it!

We don't want 'em otherwise. Absolutely Great Post!! BTW I had to laugh because I have bought football tickets since the 1960's and I did NOT attend Iowa State University. I do have some credits from GWU and thats it!
Guys and Gals(dont want to leave them out) Jamie Pollard doesnt care where you attended what school or if you ever attended ISU. Jamie only cares about people/fans getting out their checkbooks and buying football tickets.
