I dont know if they will move Jon Banks back, but this postion seems set at this point. Depth might be nice, but isnt really a focus at this point. i ran into a unnamed starter at the airport over christmas break. we talked isu football for over an hr while our plane was delayed. he said alot of stuff...including harris will probably move back to RB.

Itll be interesting to see how everything shapes up. How they evaluate the talent, see who all moves positions, and who starts. I dont doubt everyone will have earn their playing time.

we need more athletes and O-Linemen, we have a lot already, but we need more. We need running backs, we could use some freshman wideouts, some good rush ends, a middle linebacker is a big need, a new kicker is a big need!! A recruited kicker!

Based on our record- we just need talent.
It appears that GC is going after OL & DL prospects hard and bringing in #'s at those positions is a priority at both the JUCO & HS level.
After that I imagine he's focused on the best players regardless of position.
It will be interesting where GC projects Fabian Brown. He's 6'3"/230lbs but with a 4.75 40yd time I'd be surprised if he's quick enough to play LB in GC's scheme. I expect to see Fabian as a 260lb DE in a couple years.
I'm not sure how good our young WR's are, but with Blythe, Moses and Sumrall all upperclassmen, I would think we'd sign a couple HS WR's.

Thank God, a coach that gets it!!! The game is won up front, in the trenches. Recruit linemen all over the place. The skill people will be there if they know that they will be protected.
My God, Bret Meyer will be able to sue the previous coaching staff for failure to support.

We used to have good men on the offensive line. Even with as good as Troy Davis was he wouldn't have racked up those yards with the past few year's offensive linemen in front of him.
Somewhere along the line the staff put more emphasis on recruiting the skill positions and didn't seem to focus as much on beef. I think we've had some of the best skill the past couple years that ISU football has every seen.
While skill positions make the plays and such - you can't make 'em if you're running for your life every down. There has to be balance.
I can only imagine what Bret and the receivers could've accomplished the past couple years with the men up front from years past.

I think last year's line was bad, but not as horrible as everyone makes them out to be. The staff recruited players best suited for the kind of play exhibited in the Missouri game. Guys like Brant and the Fishers were maulers not agile pass blockers. Stephenson was a bad a$$ and I really don't know what to say about ol' Tom Schmeling, other than I think Stephens is better.
The new recruits, we are getting are of a different mold, at least I hope so. Dedrick only runs about 280 so one would think that pass blocking and pulling etc. would be his forte. Blaes and McMahon aren't huge either but that doesn't really mean much. Look at those Denver Bronco lines, all undersized, but all effective.
