I’d love it and cheer right beside him.
-
Uhhh, a little odd - but love the team spirit.
-
I’d hose him off and ask him to go back to his office to watch film of our next opponent.

Coach Painting
In the event you didn't hear about it, Bruce Pearl (head coach of the TN men's basketball team) joined the student section behind the basket and painted himself in the team colors with a "V" on his chest for the #4 Lady Vols game vs. top ranked Duke. Here's a photo for your viewing pleasure...
What would you think if Greg McDermott (or one of our other coaches) did this for a sporting event? Vote!

Re: Coach Painting
I'd love to see GMAC and the players out showing that kind of support for the ladies.

Re: Coach Painting
What a bad idea.. I don't want to know my coach can have a good time.. I dont want to go there, but hes one step away from pulling a Larry.. I want to know my coach shows a certain level of professionalism on/off the job.. I don't care if he can be a fun guy

I don't care if he can be a fun guy I agree with the general idea of your post, but he's several steps away from going to a party after a road loss and drinking natty light with some not-so hot coeds. Although if a coach is going to take his shirt off, he better be somewhat young and fit because I don't want to see Dr. Tom, Bo Ryan, or Wayne Morgan doing that ever. -
Re: Coach Painting
He lost a bet?
I'll agree with both Drive4cy and isuchicago, while I would love to see our other coaches in the student sections cheering for each other's squads, I would still prefer them to show a level of professionalism.
Plus I really don't need to see GMac or Chizik with their shirts off, leave something for the imagination, okay guys. -
Re: Coach Painting
It should be noted that as soon as the game started, one of his players replaced him as the 'V'. He did it to pump up the crowd before the game, but realized he was not the main event. I think it was awesome. I love Pearl's enthusiasm. He is not afraid to show some personality. He is a great recruiter and so far has proven to be a good coach. As long as he is winning, he can do whatever he wants.

But if we were forced to be subjected to it, I'd vote for the Jayhawk's Mangino.
Why?
Heck...why not? -
Re: Coach Painting
I don't see it as a huge deal.. not a scandal by any means.. he really schruted his image for me, but oh well

Re: Coach Painting
Come on now, if this guy took off his shirt all the middle aged women in this state would be taking hot baths' the same night. -
Re: Coach Painting
I think it's great, but it fit's Pearl's personality. I can't see any of our coaches doing that, and that's fine. I don't want them to do anything out of their comfort zone in that way. I don't doubt they are passionate about their jobs and ISU. I don't need to see them shirtless to know that.

Re: Coach Painting
Cael Sanderson might be okay - maybe Hoiberg might come back to visit student section too, Amy.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -
Re: Coach Painting
Did you guys see Cael at the Nebraska bball game? he was sitting in Cyclone Alley, and the Alley just happened to all wear the yellow rain coats( i know most of you heard about that). But there was Cael, in the 1st row wearing his yellow raincoat cheering with the rest of the kids.

Re: Coach Painting
Not only would I cheer beside him....I'd supply the paint (Lord knows I have enough of it)

Heck...why not? The great thing about using Mangino is that you don't need anyone else to help spell out the words...it would all fit on his enormous girth!

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes.
